Schiff's Defense of Impeachment Comes From....British History
Townhall ^ | 02/09/2021 | Leah Barkoukis

Lawyers for former President Trump will challenge the constitutionality of impeaching a private citizen in the trial that is set to begin Tuesday.

“The Senate must summarily reject this brazen political act,” his attorneys wrote in a legal brief, calling the single impeachment article “unconstitutional for a variety of reasons, any of which alone would be grounds for immediate dismissal.”

But according to Rep. Adam Schiff, there is precedent for late impeachment. It’s just in…British history.

Schiff has already voted to impeach AND he has lied to Congress about the Ukranian phone call transcript.

Discredited Leftist agitator.

Schiffless ... process is whatever it takes, evidence is whatever we will accept, results are whatever we want beforehand.

Schiff must be citing the example of Cromwell who was dug up and beheaded after he died.

This is not an impeachment.

It’s proof that we’ve had a coup.

Schiff and his comrades are latter-day Oliver Cromwells——
<><> usurping power,
<><> using Trotsky-like revolutionary tactics,
<><> embedding the state w/ class-consciousness,
<><> obliterating religious beliefs they despise,
<><> eagerly preparing to behead the King.

A REALTIME HORROR SHOW-—and you were there.
<><> 2016 Trump handily beats the “deplorable” Hillary,
<><> Hillary invents a Russian hoax and even pays for a phony salacious dossier,
<><> power-mad Democrats invent “Russians-Helped-Trump Steal-The-Election” smear.
<><> rabid Democrats investigate Trump for three solid years,
<><> tolerant and compassionate Democrats destroy people even remotely connected to Trump,
<><> the obedient media talks about it non-stop from prepared scripts,
<><> Adam Schiff says he has “mountains of evidence” but produces nothing.

Schiff for brains knows his British History. A big fan of the Star Chamber, no doubt.

How is this NOT a Conspiracy against Rights aimed at Donald Trump?? He is a Private Citizen, the Constitution clearly states that the Chief Justice shall preside over all impeachments, yet Roberts refuses to do so, instead we have an Impeachment Show going on with no real Value or Force of Law.

If President Trump SUED Every Legislator that took part in this sham, I think he could literally BANKRUPT Every one of them. I find it next to impossible that the Supreme Court would uphold this Impeachment show as being anything more than entertainment and an exercise in futility, thereby Affirming President Trumps Legal Claim of Conspiracy Against Rights against the whole bunch.

18 241

They shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, they shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death

Adam Schiff has a very convoluted method of reasoning and an odd interpretation of logic, as well as a skewed view of history, and an almost involuntary slant to every argument he makes.

He is bat-guano crazy, and that is being kind.

He missed on getting in on Heaven’s Gate.

I’ve argued with a few people on the forum about the “constitutionality” of this impeachment. Not arguing that it is in fact valid, but rather that impeachment is a political, not legal act and basically it’s whatever a sufficient number of the members of Congress say it is. Trump’s only hope is that enough republicans stand firm against this sham and vote to acquit. I have zero faith in the courts to overturn a lifetime ban on holding federal office should that come to pass.

That’s why the US Constitution forbids “bills of attainder”.

So then what is your plan of action? I do agree with you.

The battle will be fought on many fronts. Find your post.

post (n.2)

“station when on duty, a fixed position or place,” 1590s, from French poste “place where one is stationed,” also, “station for post horses” (16c.), from Italian posto “post, station,” from Vulgar Latin *postum, from Latin positum, neuter past participle of ponere “to place, to put” (see position (n.)). Earliest sense in English was military; the meaning “job, position, position” is attested by 1690s. The military meaning “fort, permanent quarters for troops” is by 1703.

Bills of attainder were used throughout the 18th century in England, and were applied to British colonies as well. Some colonists were inspired to the American Revolution because of anger at the injustice of attainder. Although at least one American state, New York, used a 1779 bill of attainder to confiscate the property of British loyalists (called Tories) as both a penalty for their political sympathies and means of funding the rebellion, American dissatisfaction with British attainder laws resulted in their being prohibited in the U.S. Constitution ratified in 1789.
