Cheney ramps-up the attacks against President Trump and his supporters. Keep in mind that Trump holds more than 85% approval within the party, yet Cheney and the Decepticons just don’t care; they hate anyone who does not facilitate their power demand. They hate you.

Additionally, two-thirds of the republican house conference voted to keep Cheney in her position. There is no way to reconcile the disconnect between what the elected GOP are doing against the will of the majority unless you accept they just don’t care. That's immediately larger than the GOP, and because they would pull 64% of pubbies, it would be at least double the size. GOP would immediately be a small minority party. IT would be the 3rd party, not Trump's party.
And if Trump announced, it would pull even more from momentum.

What about qualifications for elections with a new party? Then there are the local officials which will be against a 3rd party. I see an up hill battle vs taking over the Republican Party.
They won’t give up yet, this will take more than one election cycle. A couple more beatings and they might come around.
Trump already said he is not forming a third parties.
I’ve discussed the insurmountable patronage/spoils reasons that no third party in America has ever succeeded. Indeed, their track record is they lose HALF their voters in a four year period. (Populists, Reform). The exceptions are those unserious parties like the Socialists and Libertarians.
Structurally a third party cannot sustain itself over the 20 years it takes to build up the patronage rewards system. Even Perot’s reform party didn’t elect ONE SINGLE HOUSE OR SENATE MEMBER. This is not sexy stuff, but unfortunately it’s akin to insisting you’re gonna run an internal combustion engine on water. Sundance is wrong on this. We must take over the GOP.
Then elect new top to bottom leadership. But that’s not going to happen. Move to plan “B”.

If there are enough of “us” -independent, motivated, doing our own research, creating our own communications and media, organizing for clean elections in our local precincts, counties and states, no specific party affiliation or even heroic “strong man leader” is necessary.
The only people for whom party affiliation is important is “them” -and thats because WITHOUT a central organization “them” can focus on, manipulate and obtain control over, ...”them” can do nothing....about what is coming.
