The owner of this Shih Tzu told me she named the dog "Andy Rooney" because he resembled the late CBS commentator Andy Rooney both in appearance as well as due to having the same curmudgeonly character. What do you think? I can attest that the Andy Rooney dog definitely was a curmudgeon since he only barely tolerated my presence.

Best breed ever. I miss my shih-tzu. Not as yappy as people might think. Willing to turn the attention on himself when I was furious at the kids.
Have an almost 2 year old mix of King Charles Cavalier and shih-tzu.
He’s the most outstanding little guy ever.

With that being said, if your dog can't rip the throat out of a home invader then it ain't worth the cuddles and yips at strangers that the rest of them give.........

I have had Lhasa Apsos for years. Bred and sold them for awhile. At one time we had 7 adult Lhasas.
Lhasas are just a little bit bigger Shih Tzus. I can never tell them apart.
We now have just 2 left. Both 14 years old.
It’s such a strange hair cut maybe it is? His tail looks right but not much else ....
My Shih Tzu is often mistaken for a Laso and one difference is a shorter nose on a Shih Tzu but they are very similar and Laso probably used to create Shih Tzu breed.

Actually it is. In the part of the video that I edited out, I asked the lady if it was a poodle and she told me she gave it was a Shih Tzu but gave it a poodle cut due to an operation it had. So it is a Shih Tzu with a poodle cut.

That’s no Shih Tzu. That’s some kind of poodle mix. It’s a mutt.
