Seven out of the 10 Republican lawmakers who voted in favor of impeaching former President Donald Trump are already facing primary challenges for their congressional seats.

Newsweek indicates that the pro-impeachment GOPers have “been publicly scolded, pushed to resign and warned that local organizations will mount a strong push to oust them from office in the primary.”

The report profiles primary challenges already forming for Reps. David Valadao (CA), Liz Cheney (WY), Adam Kinzinger (IL), Dan Newhouse (WA), and Anthony Gonzalez (OH).

They add, “Another Republican has created an exploratory committee in a potential bid for Representative Tom Rice’s seat and local GOP organizations have vowed to recruit someone to go after Representative Jamie Herrera Buetler’s spot in Congress.”

...

Two of the more high-profile of the Republicans facing challenges after voting to impeach former President Trump are Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger.

Kinzinger announced the formation of a new PAC he claims is fighting to “take back” the GOP from Trump.

remove them all.

This vote on impeachment is far from the only reason.

The one that is worst and most disappointing is Kinzinger...he went full Washington by his 3rd term. A shame...he was, or seemed, like the real deal. Young, energetic, good stage presence, etc. Thought he was the future of the GOP and we would be in good hands with him. Nope. Go along to get along to please the bosses is all he has been.

We need a 10 for 10 in 2022. I think we have a shot at it.

As long as they’re not vanity runs like some of the posts here. If the best people run the 10 will take themselves out once they know the voters are serious.

Valadao will be difficult because California has open primaries. If only one Dem runs and lots of pubbies then Valadao could squeak out in second place after the Dem, and then lose in the runoff.

Still I'd rather have someone who we know is a traitor, i.e. a Dem, than someone who pretends not to be, i.e. Valadao.

The “dirty 10” should’ve resigned their seats after their infantile vote.

McCarthy should’ve punished everyone of those imbeciles, but he won’t.

Kevin McWeasel is a Paul Ryan acolyte.

That’s the kind of race we need to find Trump Democrats to run in.

They should never be allowed to hold office as republicans ever again. This should follow them around like a virus forever.

Kinzinger is a pretty boy who checked all the conservative boxes when he needed to. Now he’s posturing to run for higher office. Says he isn’t but my guess is Governor of Illinois.

Most of them will soon be telling their sob story to a military tribunal.

I’d rather have Governor Creosote.

I wouldn’t be so ready to see the gop as our go to party in any future elections. Unless I miss my guess, you’re getting ready to see the senate gop do a brutus on our man Trump. If they do, they’re DONE!

They are not going to do a number on Trump. I will be very surprised if the Dems accomplish anything with their show trial. Romney and perhaps a few others will risk their careers to vote for conviction. Good riddance to them.

Watch for the democrats to make sure that none of those 10 GOP reps get primaried, by, either having democrat voters cross over to vote for the incumbent GOP reps, or by pulling the same kind of crap they did in Nov 3rd and on Jan 5th to steal the elections.
