The first rifle on my list is the venerable Ruger 10/22. Designed to mimic the size and weight of the historic M1 Carbine, this compact weapon has made a name for itself as one of the most accurate, reliable, and affordable .22s on the market.
It works great for small game hunting or propped by the back door for varmints, and with a 10-round magazine, it can handle self-defense in a pinch. There is also an endless list of aftermarket accessories available, so you can customize your rifle with ease.

No.
I am partial to the S&W 15-22 sporter version. Only misfires so far in two thousand rounds is ammo related ... the nature of rimfire.
just kidding
Not that I heard of. Anyone? Bueller?
Pretty sure that’s a hammer.
If taking that route consider the 300 blackout model, with 200 gr bullets it has planty of stopping power in subsonic velocity.
I much prefer a shotgun if I’m in a defensible space (e.g. barricaded in a bedroom). If I’m forced into clearing areas (kids, guests, etc.), then I want something very small that I can bring around corners like either a handgun or a bullpup weapon or SBR. In all cases, unless I’m way out in the country, I want rounds that will not over-penetrate.
An AR might do wonders for stopping power, but you better be sure no stray rounds wind up through your neighbors’ windows. You’re fully responsible for every round, no matter the circumstances. For mobility, I really like an SBR’d FN PS90. 50 round standard mag, rounds shatter on solid object impact, highly reliable, very small, near-zero recoil, and very difficult to take away. Easy to maneuver around corners, easy to put 2-3 shots on target, and nobody’s going to bring enough ammo to outlast you unless they’re a SWAT team.
The title says 4 best Semi-Automatic rifles for your home, but the article above only lists the 10/22.
Where are the rest of the rifles?
Yep. You can use it as a club but if dude has a loaded weapon its gonna be a bad day.
7.62x39 AK with a holosun dot and a light, another chambered in 5.45x39 with an aimpoint and a light, a draco AK pistol in 7.62x39, a JTS AK12 which is somewhat similar to a Saiga 12.
I’m a die hard AK guy.
Mini 14s and mini 30s have very poor metallurgy and I’ve yet to see one survive even a single 1,700 round class.
Tossing it at the bad guy is an option. At least in the movies.
You might want to read up on testing of various projectiles through common building materials.
It worked for Clint Eastwood in “Unforgiven” but I wouldn’t recommend it. LOL
“For home? 12 guage”
Agree to a point...wouldn’t you want something with a bit more range? I’d prefer to stop ‘em at 300 yards instead of 30 feet, yes?
You must have a BIG house.
A-10? I really want one.
I’ll be on the roof reaching outside of my neighborhood.
Love, love, love my AR-15.

5 best.
Read the article.
The 10/22 is a nice plinker, but for home defense I don’t think it would be effective. A friend of mine who is a deputy sheriff told me that the best home defense needs to have a 4 in front.
The AR pistol, aka "poor man's SBR". AR SBRs are great. One of the very best is the LWRC SIX8-UCIW with Federal XM68GD ammo.
