I recently bought a new flip phone that Verizon was offering a good deal on. It’s an Alcatel Go Flip V.
I loved my old LG flip phone but it was not wi-fi compatible so I had to get one that was. The Alcatel is and that’s the single only good thing I have to say about the phone.
The phone is flat out awful. It has a terrible selection of ringtones, is difficult to set up, the texting is terrible and you cannot forward texts, the image quality is awful for pictures received (they look like a negative of the picture), I had to even look up how to set the alarm, and it is not intuitive in the least.
Does anyone out there know of a good flip phone that works with Verizon? I do NOT want a smart phone. All I want is wi-fi calling, texting, and an occasional photo, and the ability to forward stuff like my old phone did.
I must have wi-fi calling as we get no cell service at our present location.
My smart phone is in a folding holder...I shut it anytime I want, (no spying) plus I carry my wallet in one side of it, ie credit, medical cards, license.
Like a wallet?
This might work but may not be a whole lot better than what you have now.

No wonder it’s crap. Alcatel is now a Communist Chinese company (at least its phone division)
Consumer Cellular has two simple flip phones.

Both ZTE: Communist Chinese phones.
Flip-phones need a normal keyboard, not the early 2000’s one that is full of frustration and impossible to use to send simple sms messages?
Yes...but only one side (inside) has slots
I have a Verizon flip phone... KYOCERA
Does all those things...
Plus it bounces from heights and keeps on ticking...
Plus it fits in either of my front pockets...
Been chugging along for six years...
The reviews are terrible.
I’ve seen that advertised and thought about it.
Ditch Verizon and AT&T. They are evil leftist companies. Seriously, look them up. No patriot should do business with these scumbags.
They look good .. but expensive.
Here’s solution that’s affordable and gives you 90% of what you need.
On Ebay, search for “tracfone 1 year service”. Then scroll down to find offers for a one year service plan for $59.99 which includes a new phone. (NOTE: Tracfone is now owned by Verizon.)
Now here’s something a lot of folks don’t know. Just because these Android phones are connected to the internet, you don’t have to use the digital capabilities such as internet search that enable people to track you.
Instead, when you are (rarely) asked to sign onto Google, you refuse. The phone will not force you onto the internet. However you can still use texting, and have phone service with WiFi.
Now most people won’t go this route. However if you can wait to get home to your PC to surf the net, then you have a smartphone that costs no more than $5 a month.
Also you can keep your phone number from year to year. You must simply order your annual phone service before the previous year expires. (Have done this for a few years myself.)
The other caveat is this is NOT a flip phone, but a non-tracking way to use a smartphone at a price that can’t be beat.
Were you aware of this option?
I just got one of these for an okder gentleman, tried it out, set it up for hom, and it works fine on the 4G network. replaces his old worn-out no longer supported Verizon flip phone. Works pretty much tyhe same as his old one, and like others that I myself have used. Read the User’s Guide carefully.
Search for unlocked flip phones. First though look for best flip phones 2021 to help you pick. BestPRoducts dot com has article Get Back to Basics with one of these 13 Best Flip Phones.
If my wife had her way she’d have a flip phone too. I almost bought her a Trac Phone when her last phone died.
You’re still going to be tracked. I thought putting your phone in airplane mode stopped tracking but it doesnt. It stops tge reporting of your GPS location while in airplane mode and soon as you switch it off they get the tracking info. The only way I know how to stop the auto tracking is to pull tge battery and reinstall it later preferably at same location.
I got one of these several months back. It fits the bill.

I’m not sure they make flip phones with easy/intuitive interfaces.
A friend has one and I was stumped trying to add a contact since it’s so long since I had one.
No coverage in our area from anyone but Verizon.
