I think that Trump and the potential draining of the swamp was a chance to switch the game up. But, so far, it looks to me like that failed. Now we have China running our government and stomping on the accelerator to bring about the Great Reset. I don’t see how it gets stopped.
But everyone is “staying home and staying safe” so I’m sure we’ll be OK.

I said that at the beginning too.
The lockdowns made NO rational or logical sense.
No no - we have to flatten the curve.
But the infections will just skyrocket again when we reopen (and they did)

And now the entire DNC - charged and sworn with upholding the constitution says we’re going to take part in the world globalization great reset and you have no choice in the matter.
That doesn’t sound like a government adhering to the constitution.
Until the pain associated with the accelerating degradation of the quality of life in middle class America exceeds the pain caused by the increasingly irrational fear of a disease with a 99.99 percent recovery rate, cowardice will reign in our country ... and that cowardice will be exploited by power- and celebrity-obsessed vile individuals until such time as former American "men" wake from their panic-induced stupor and put an end to this Liberty-destroying tyranny ... for the sake of their children if not for themselves.
There is no doubt as to the inevitability of that day of reckoning as the love of Liberty is inate as to American citizens -- more so than in any other country -- whether, in our year-long fearful state, we are aware of it or not.

Sometimes the innocuous is perceived as a malicious scheme. It’s okay to ask the question, but I would caution against making too much of it for two reasons. 1.) you do have an individual life to live among family and friends, and 2.) you have an awareness that manipulative schemes exist.
Civilization often engages in corporate behaviors out of a sense of the common good and welfare. Individuals have a responsibilty to question whether corporate behaviors as engaged and encouraged truly redound to that end.
I’m certainly glad I live a rural, somewhat self-sufficient life.
The only thing to change for me is less time with friends (Family? We see them regularly) and a change in my shopping habits so I can pick things up or have them delivered and not need to run around in a mask - which is still MANDATED by my douche of a Governor. *BLECH*
We go out to eat a couple times a week, stop by the local brewery once a week. We come and go as we please in the stores, no mask, no BS and no worries.
When I retired I refused to ever get on another airplane as long as I live so that scenario will never bother me again. Never wanted to take a cruise ship anywhere so that’s a non-issue. I stay away from blue states unless driving through to a red one and wont go near any city regardless of what state it’s in. Cities are infected with liberals and liberal think.
Rural America is where it’s at.

I rejected “the new normal” as gaslighting 10 months ago. I must admit shock at how easily society has capitulated to the nonsense.

The justice department, specifically the fbi and cia, has been involved in psychological warfare since its inception. They have been collecting huge amounts of personal data, analyzing it, and using it to manipulate behaviour. After they were caught off guard in the 2016 election, they spent the last four years plotting the 2020 election coup. 2020 could be labeled as the year the justice department commandeered for the coup.
I’m envious. I live in a small town about 35 miles away from the Dark Hole of Seattle, where intelligent thought is sucked away never to be seen again.
Even at our outer orbit this town falls prey to the insidious stupidity and, as a consequence, rules by the same idiotic diktats.
So I can come and go as I please, but there isn’t anywhere TO go. The activities - the bars where I played, the car shows, etc. - are all suspended indefinitely (if not abandoned altogether).
