There’s that “equity” word again. In this context, WTF does it mean?
From what I gather...
1. Similar to equality, but easier ro spell and shorter.
2. Does not have the “baggage” of the word “equality”.
Teachers use to be admired and now are in line with used car sales people.

Keep your kids at home and school them there.

We have kids killing themselves, and we have kids killing each other, and a lot of it is about drugs: prescription and illicit. It’s not all just about the shutdown. Suicides and attempts may indeed be up due to the depressing effects of the shutdown and tensions in the home caused by the shutdown. But some of it is just statistical. Read the label on any of these anti-depressant drugs. I am not saying they are bad, many people are helped by them. But a small percentage of people put on them experience suicidal or homicidal ideation. Say it is just 1 in 10,000. But put 5 million kids on the drug and you’ve got 500 potential killers and suicides.
Then you have the war on drugs, which has caused illicit drug prices to go way up and that makes some people want to be the next Al Capone. Chicago has a Valentines Day Massacre every weekend and it’s not because they are crazy it’s because of drug money turf and vendettas.
None of this has anything to do with “privilege” it is just the opposite. We have a ruling class that doesn’t know squat, doesn’t care, and has even given up the pretense of caring about real problems and instead has focused on the symbols on bathroom doors and whether some statue is offensive to some clan.
It’s deeper than that. Equity has multiple meanings. For example, equity in your home is the amount of “profit” in its value vs the amount owed against the mortgage, if any. That is not lost on them. It is in this case a euphemism for “equal outcomes” and redistribution of assets. Not just wealth, but any and all perceived disproportionate distribution of any asset - schooling, housing, transportation and even political power are all assets in this case and “equity” in this context has to do with trying to redistribute what they think is unfairly distributed - without much real thought or research into why and how it became that way, or even how to remedy it. It’s pretty much straight Marxism cloaked in euphemisms.
Nobody should oppose equal outcomes. But everyone should understand it requires equal inputs.
Tell them to knock it off and get back to work. Who do they think they are?
Teachers who don’t want to be controlled in the classroom could become private tutors. It could be done in private homes or even church basements?
