Tucker Carlson Makes His First Post-Trump Play
American Conservative ^ | 1/19/2021 | Curt Mills

Several elements of Carlson’s monologue — which was swiftly lapped up by the faithful on social media — distinguish him from his forebears. He’s also drawn lines for potential rivals to cross, if they dare.

First, and strikingly, is Carlson’s pronounced willingness to strike out against Conservative, Inc., and the small government apparatus that funded much of the early opposition to the last Democratic president. “Members of the media call for a secret police agency. This is the stuff of libertarian nightmares,” Carlson said. “It’s what they claim to hate. Where are they now? Why isn’t billionaire libertarian man of principle Charles Koch spending billions of dollars to stop this?” (The Charles Koch Foundation has, for many years, funded some of this magazine’s work, focused on foreign policy.)

Second, Carlson has declared war on the neocons. He has tacitly endorsed the line of longstanding critics of the war on terror, many of whom have written for this magazine (Carlson is on TAC’s advisory board, but is not involved in editorial policy), that vicious American policies abroad, borne of extraordinary circumstances, may eventually be visited on those at home. Moe Davis, the former chief Guantanamo Bay prosecutor who lost the election to Rep. Madison Cawthron last fall, has called for his old rival’s jailing along War on Terror lines.

Tucker could be getting his monologue material straight from a burning bush but I won’t watch him as long as he stays with Fox.

“has declared war on the neocons”

That means his management.

Won’t get too far with them.

At this point, either the shareholders bounce all of them including Ryan, or they just circle the drain and eventually disappear.

Newsmax has problems but Kelly and Stinchfield seem to have no problem telling the truth about The Steal. Until Carlson can do that, he’s punching with one hand tied behind his back.

I don’t typically watch Faux News, but happened to catch a few minutes of Tucker Carlson during the encore showing late at night.

Did anyone notice how Jason Whitlock was in the middle of a very well stated concurrence with Tucker when the screen went black and he was unceremoniously cut off without the usual niceties and “thank you’s” typically accorded to Tucker’s guests? Tucker at first seemed surprised but then went on solo.

I think Whitlock is brilliant and was about to get into some serious truth. It seemed like the powers at Fox thought he was getting close to saying something they didn’t want us to hear.

What’s up with that?

It appeared to be a genuine technical glitch as Whitlock later rejoined the discussion. And — you’re right — he was great.

If trump stays in fox is screwed completely. They have been all in for Biden including calling AZ and ignoring FL TX, PA. They’re half screwed now viewership wise and lucky if they avoid charges of aiding and abetting theft of a presidential election. Looks like Biden will take the oath.

Stand back.

That’s it.

I won’t listen to Hannity for even a minute. I stopped listening to TC before tehe election and since I have determined not to go back. Everything else on Fox, good or bad, is considered bad because it is Fox and I don’t view them as friendly. Bill O’Reilly was a harbinger. Back when fox first got started, I watched Bill O’Reilly and I thought, with friends like these, we don’t need enemies. Now it’s the whole channel. They let the mask slip off, and they look just like MSNBC.

Probably have a tape delay to make it easy to censor guests like that.

I did watch the monologue through another source and it is actually quite good. I know Tucker to be fairly Libertarian and at times he has ticked off people on both sides. But he finds himself and his arguments the vast majority of times favoring conservatism because he fights with common sense and history as his weapons of choice. Pretty certain he is still on FOX due to honoring contracts and if you find yourself in the belly of the beast, why not fight from within. Haha, Tucker the Ulcer Carlson :-)

I don't miss that dirty old man at all. Haven't seen hide nor hair of O'Reilly The Bloviator in Chief since he left Faux News. I've heard he hangs out in some dark crusty corner of the "interwebs" LOL. Probably still on the prowl with a lot of Anthony-Weiner-style "selfies".

"...I won’t watch him as long as he stays with Fox."

Yes, because everyone on Fox News is Chris Wallace.

Sheesh.
