The Republican Party not only retreats, it enables this kind of oppression. One of our biggest problems is that we have no political party representing us.
The obvious thing to do is write “letters to the editor”, like we used to do. If it’s done by email, then at first it is sent to the general email box. But if it is thoughtful and intelligent, the writer is rewarded with a different, better email address.
And if the email is really good, follow up articles with a “commentary” section, without naming the author.
We need to be like sharks. Always moving forward.
Most if not all major newspapers did this a while back
