The Washington Post Editorial Board praised the shutdown of free-speech platform Parler by the company owned by the same “world’s richest person” that owns The Washington Post.
The Jan. 11 editorial screed was headlined, “Parler deserved to be taken down. We still need new rules for the Internet.” The Post gushed in the first paragraph that “PRESIDENT TRUMP’S exile from Twitter and Facebook last week left him with Parler, a fringe, laissez-faire social media site, as his likely best alternative for online communication.” It continued: “Then Parler found itself on the outs, too, booted from Apple and Google’s app stores and Amazon’s Web-hosting service.” Liberal billionaire Jeff Bezos owns both Amazon (11.1 percent stake) and The Post.
Then came the knee-slapper: “It is legitimate for corporate actors to scrub their sites of speech with the potential to cause harm.” Step one: Bezos-owned Amazon denies Parler access to its servers. Step two: Bezos-owned newspaper The Post swoops in to explain Amazon’s actions to the public. Sounds like a good public relations stunt.

Nothing like expressing intent.
Keep pushing, keep pushing...
I see that Bozos is getting synergy across his properties.
laissez faire? horrors. :-)
LOL....you can’t make this sh!t up, anymore, can you?
I am PRAYING people are NOT spending a nickel at Amazon, if I can go cold turkey so can ANYONE, Amazon was at my door damn near everyday I spent THOUSANDS at Amazon closed my account wrote an email DONE!! There are MANY on line shopping choices AND hopefully they will become very successful!!\
Potential AWS customers might be wary. If you know that your online operations could be cancelled if Amazon decides that they don’t like your political stance, then you might be inclined to search for an alternative.
SUE SUE SUE!!!! Take the evil arrogant ass to court.
One thing I’m thinking is that there are communist countries who have entire departments dedicated to using social media in America and other democratic countries to propagandize citizens and influence events. If what Amazon says is true, it does not appear that Parler had any sort of procedures in place to combat that. If that isn’t true, and they did have a way to combat foreign influence, that needs to come out and will be a major factor in any case brought against Amazon.
I never bought anything on amacrap for the past 5 years.
Anyone beat this record?
I only logged in ONCE to see if my old credit card number was in there but never bothered to change it because it’s invalid anyways..
I was buying a lot of books on Amazon to read on my iPad. I discovered a new reading app, Kobo, which appears to have all the books that Amazon has. Kobo is a Japanese company known as the Japanese Amazon.
For other online shopping there are many possibilities. Amazon made us all comfortable with their product and then turned around and bit us.
Maybe it’s time for some “accidental” blockage of the access gates of all of the facilities where those little teal Amazon trucks roll out of;)
Amazon seems to have a nice new rolling fleet; semis for long-haul, and mini-vans for local delivery.

Thank God we had Sessions and Barr for 4 wasted DOJ years. These people should have been squashed long ago.
From this, you can tell that Bezos is nothing more than a rabid democrat!
And if your a government planner you might want to think twice about doing business with a company that withdraws its service when it doesn't like your policies.
Really Bro, NEVER bought ANYTHING off Amazon, and I’ve had many 10’s of thousands in purchases( guns photo equip, knives, clothes, etc), no Fakebook acct, no Instagram, no tweet, etc. own a business, no LinkedIn, no salesforce ,etc. No Cloud service @ Bus, have server, no Cloud @ home, have hard drives.
Now everyone is running around telling each other to delete certain accounts, etc; shaking my motherfooking head, tired of listening to this crap.
Shame if something happened to those nice new vans...
I wonder how big tech and the Left will react if as a majority of the people we just don’t play their game anymore. Don’t watch the news at all, ever. Go about our lives and if someone accosted us in public for some social edict we have avoided or are not heeding to, we don’t discuss argue or engage with them, let them do all the yelling. We just smile and say “Jesus loves you” over and over.
Can’t buy or sell? Can we possibly have our own farmer’s market type barter system amongst ourselves. Do we really need to succeed into a break away nation? Can we just separate ourselves out from among them and yet still be a functioning citizenry? Not admitting to any social or political party would Make it hard for them to corral and institutionalize us. Make them work for it. It will drive them madder than they are now. I think we could hold out with collective civil disobedience until help, either physical or spiritual help, arrives to save us.
You can see how the separating out of ourselves into our own media platforms is already making them foam at the mouth. They are desperate for control but they are going to have a hard time controlling over half the populace if we ignore them.
