One topic that has remained relevant in politics, besides the usual corruption and selling out, is the idea of conspiracy theories. Even in the debates, President Trump was asked to denounce conspiracy theory groups like QAnon, after his supposed “support” of them. Conspiracy theories are a big part of politics, and life in general. There are always conspiracies from TV shows to Democratic officials. Are conspiracy theories dangerous? It depends.
All over Google and social media, you’ll see these “trusted news sites” say how evil and dangerous conspiracy theories are. This coming from the people who pushed the Russia hoax for 3+ years? Who believed the article from the Washington Post (owned by Jeff Bezos) stating Trump wanted to add more votes (but there’s no such thing as voter fraud)? These are the people telling us how dangerous these conspiracy theories are. Even the meme above is a conspiracy theory. Unless anyone can prove it to be true, we won’t know.
I will state that there is a line that needs to be drawn in regard to conspiracy theories, and the only line I’ll say is when it puts innocent people in danger. Like the shooter who believed Pizzagate. Thankfully, no one was hurt from his reckless actions.
His actions, however, shouldn’t dictate the others who believe in these conspiracy theories. At this point, however, some of what is happening today isn’t conspiracy. It’s legit.

We must silence those people who go against the state with their “theories”!!
~ CCP
Too often they are simply the observable TRUTH that are inconvenient for the Devil and his kin.
That’s a false binary. They’re not automatically a “good” thing even if they aren’t necessarily dangerous. There is plenty of middle ground between those two extremes.
For example, was it dangerous that so many conservatives let themselves get distracted by the obviously fake Q BS all these years? Probably not. Did it cause some of them to think that problems would magically get fixed for them and make them complacent? Probably yes.
Good People telling the truth are often referred to as conspiracy theorists in order to discredit them... but the truth sets us free.
Evil People telling lies or perpetrating hoaxes to troll others or misdirect attention are Dangerous and potentially deadly.
so it depends on which conspiracy theorists your referring to.
Conspiracy theories are a distraction from the truth. And truth is necessary to hold people responsible for their actions.
Conspiracy theories get some people searching for the truth at least. I remember starting that search way back when when NCO I knew started talking about free masonry and the symbolism on the dollar. That was over 20 years ago.
Conspiracy theories become dangerous when one begins to believe the theories.
If it ended there, I’d agree. But you get far too many people who will dive down that rabbit hole, swallowing the conspiracy theory hook, line, and sinker and expanding it to include all sorts of wild and crazy ideas.
The primary issue is either an inability or unwillingness to critically examine claims against available evidence and then play the tape all the way through. For example: if your conspiracy theory requires millions of people to be “in on it”, it’s nonsense. Millions of people don’t work well together. The US military - probably about the most organized, trained, and prepared organization on Earth - can’t keep everyone marching in the same direction. They can’t even keep them from shooting or dropping bombs on each other accidentally. Not a knock on the US military, which is second to none, but rather a point about human fallibility. Most conspiracy theories require this incredible (literally not credible) level of infallibility among a massive group. Often that group is the US Federal government, which couldn’t even launch a website to buy things (Obamacare) after years and billions of dollars trying.
all theories start out as conspiracies
Every thing the news media reports is a conspiracy theory, or actual conspiracy in progress. The MSM decides, premeditated, which news to tell us. Their politics influences those decisions. Conspiracy.
Conspiracy theories are good when they lead to an actual conspiracy being discovered, particularly when the theorist has standing.
What is so hard about that? What is the point of the question!?
Bottom line: if Trump does not act on the information indicating electoral fraud through using his authority to use the emergency broadcast system to lay out the facts to the general population unfiltered by Big Tech and the MSM and invoking his powers under executive orders and the Insurrection Act to seize control of the ballot boxes in the contested states, we can conclude that either the fraud is not extensive enough to warrant overturning the results and the stories about Dominion Systems are untrue or Trump cannot or will not invoke those powers. In the former case, Q and people like Sidney Powell, Alex Jones, etc., are the 2020 version of the Y2K doomsayers like Gary North. In the latter case, either Trump has little if any control over the civilian and military branches of the Federal government or he has been promised that the Feds and the state of New York will not pursue criminal charges against him if he goes away more or less quietly.
Worked for the Rats.
One thing I am sure of: any theory that is ‘self sealing’- that is the kind of insanity that that says ‘of course you object, you’re brainwashed’, or ‘of course we don’t have 100% incontrovertible proof, they were too slick for that’ is always wrong and the people propagating it are up to no good at all.
Anything other than the simplest, most obvious explanation bears 100 percent of the burden of proof.

I call conspiracy theories risk assessment.
Then again, we are living in interesting times and it's getting harder to dismiss certain conspiracy theories. And some conspiracy theories turned out to be true. MK ultra was considered a conspiracy theory-until it wasn't. What about the surveillance of DJT? Using Fast and Furious weapons to justify gun control? Iraq WMDs? and we'll see what becomes of this election fraud business and, the origins of Covid.
