Wednesday’s fight over a long-shot effort to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election is dividing Republicans, including those from the same state, as opposition grows to the plan.
Several Republican senators formally announced on Tuesday that they will oppose challenging the Electoral College results, meaning GOP senators in at least five states will split when Congress convenes its joint session on Wednesday where lawmakers will count the votes, a pro forma exercise that in previous years has taken a matter of minutes.
GOP Sens. John Cornyn (Texas), James Inhofe (Okla.) and Jerry Moran (Kan.) each said Tuesday that they will not support efforts to challenge President-elect Joe Biden's win in key battleground states.

The GOP for the most part doesn’t care about losing voters. If you think this is going to drive them to do what Freepers think is right, guess again. We’ve had decades to get good candidates to run, and we’ve lost the battle. The left and the Deep State have ZERO to fear from conservatives. No one from the right is going to start a civil war against the leftist leadership, and that’s the only thing that will change the course of this country.
The sheep and the goats . . .the wheat and the chaff are self-separating right before our very eyes. Talk about self-exposure!
I said less than a week after the election that Trump should start the MAGA party. Call it the constitutional party or whatever name you want to give it. Keep the republicans with stones and jettison the rest.
It will be interesting to see what happens in 2022. There are some very angry and motivated republican grassroots types out there that will not forget this.
Amazing this would never happen on the left. They’d be 48 all in line.

THey all figure Trump has lost and are now just positioning themselves for what they think is their best political future.
I hope many of them turn out to have made a very bad choice.
