AUK court has rejected Washington’s aggressive attempt to drag Wikileaks founder Julian Assange to the United States to face unprecedented charges of espionage, but that doesn’t mean the travails of the free information outlaw are over.

Nor does it stop the chilling effect that his prosecution has had on free speech or the press. “This is a loaded gun pointed right at journalists,” charged Marjorie Cohn, law professor and former president of the National Lawyers Guild, speaking on a panel Monday.

If only we believed that a thing such as “journalism” still existed, perhaps we would care about this “loaded gun”...

Such B.S. Having a U.S. service member download U.S. intel is not free speech. Trying to destroy the U.S. is not free speech.

Remember the accomplice of Assange had his sentence commuted by President Obama. Pro-Assange = Pro-Obama.

Actually, Asange spoke with the lawyers at the SOS office years ago to inform them that some crucial information was being stolen that could harm the state department.

Apparently, Julian and other journalist organizations hold information that they trade off, sell or publish. It sounds highly competitive. Sometimes information falls into the wrong hands.

There is a vid over at Rumble that is very interesting.

Assage is not a journalist, even in today's world. I do't believe he even claims to be. He is a publisher and activist.

And he is supported by the extreme left wing. Medea Benjamin of CodePink is pushing his cause, as well as Jacobin magazine.

It's no longer clear to me that protecting the US intelligence community's secrets protects America. I'm no longer convinced that the US intelligence community works in the best interests of the American people.

Then it’s a good thing that the Constitution doesn’t limit the 1st Amendment to only protecting journalists.

“...If only we believed that a thing such as “journalism” still existed, perhaps we would care about this “loaded gun”...”

My response ended up turning into a sarcastic (but kinda serious) question: “If things do indeed end up as President Kamala, what is the over/under on her giving Jim Acosta the Presidential Medal of Freedom (and in the process making it just as bitterly ironic as the Nobel “Peace” Prize?)”

I guess it depends on whether you still think the CIA and the FBI are the good guys.
