The Census Bureau announced Wednesday that they would miss their deadline on reporting apportionment figures used for the purposes of redrawing electoral districts.
It mark’s the first time in over 40 years that the Bureau has missed such a deadline.
“This important process, which has been a part of every decennial census, is critical to produce data that can be used for apportioning seats in the House of Representatives among the states,” the Census Bureau said in a statement.

Perhaps of more urgency, the Bureau did not indicate whether or not the process would be completed before President-elect Joe Biden enters office on Jan. 20, 2021.
Missing the deadline is more than just bureaucratic incompetence, it threatens the nature of our democracy. If the counting is not completed before Biden takes office, illegal immigrants will most assuredly be counted in the process of apportionment.
President Trump tried desperately to prevent that from happening.

Repeatedly over my 33 year career in industry, I saw low level functionaries stymie the efforts by management to change something. In every case I recall, the efforts of management would have led a better and more profitable company. But if they endangered someone’s personal empire or even their sense of personal power, it didn’t matter if the sabotage eventually caused the entire company to fail and lost everyone their job.
Thus, presidential policies are undone by faceless bureaucrats.

The federal agencies have all been stonewalling everything Trump has tried to accomplish for the citizens.
This move to exclude illegal aliens in particular interferes with the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA) which has been the largest bipartisan project of the last 30 years.

It doesn’t really matter. Biden Will reverse it immediately when he takes office in a few weeks. No need to fret over it at this point unfortunately. All those EOs will be reversed.

Sorry, but this has been completely bipartisan.
The open borders/non-enforcement has been ongoing for 30 years through four Presidents, two from each party.
The swamp strikes back at every chance.
Deliberate slow walking by liberals who have taken over the bureaucracies.

The policy of excluding illegal aliens from the count was instituted by formal Executive Order. Normally it would be thought that all it would take would be another Executive Order to reverse that policy. However, the courts issued a precedent setting decision on this question in President Trump’s effort to reverse the Obama executive order regarding the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. It might not be so quick and easy to change policy.
