The 1776 Commission: A New and Much-Needed Initiative from President Trump

“Our mission is to defend the legacy of America’s founding, the virtue of America’s heroes, and the nobility of the American character. We must clear away the twisted web of lies in our schools and out classrooms, and teach our children the magnificent truth about our country. We want our sons and daughters to know that they are the citizens of the most exceptional nation in the history of the world.” -Donald Trump on the 1776 Commission

Why America Needs Patriotic Education Standards This past week, President Trump announced the creation of the 1776 Commission. Made up of a board of experts in American history, it will work to counter the lies and horrific, anti-American nature of the leftist-run 1619 Project.

Unlike that project, which is intended to destroy America by eroding our faith in our history, institutions, and founders, the 1776 Commission will teach American schoolchildren the truth, which is that our Founding Fathers were some of the greatest men to have ever lived and that what they accomplished was monumental.

It’s so hard to nip things in the bud.

Clinton’s “living and breathing” Constitution should have been a HUGE sign of what was to come.

The Constitution is dead. Long live the Constitution.

If I didn’t consider it disrespectful, I would also say the Bible is dead...

I only mean that there is no room for change.

In both.

They are what they are.

Progressives want both to be “living and breathing”.

Then they can warp both to suggest that they mean something other than they do.

“living and breathing”...who knew that could be a bad thing in some cases.

.................
What flag you fly? That project is crucial and we, not you obviously, will make it work.
Why would you ever take that position?

The problem is built in. You run Soviet style schools you are going to get Soviet style teaching. When the teachers get their paycheck it is the State that is paying them, all you are is the sucker forced to fund them.

At this point the schools are too far gone to the left to save. Stop trying and do the sensible thing, stop paying them. Separation of School and State is an ideal whose time has come.

The Constitution is dead. Long live the Constitution.

True, but so confusing having the same name. How do I know which constitution we're talking about?
Is the new constitution "Bizzarro" because when compared to the original, it makes no sense?
Maybe the new one is the "Anti"-Constitution because it's so totally opposite what we've always thought it was. You know, like we always thought we had the right to peacefully assemble, but that's out now, you're a superspreader if you do. Violent protest, now that's different, you can still do that if you protest the right things.
You can peacefully assemble in a WalMart but not a church? We're back to Bizzarro Constitution. I'm so confused!

Maybe I need some Cliff Notes to help me understand the new Constitution, because just reading it leads me astray. Freedom of Worship and Right to Bear Arms right there in black and white, but somehow not there anymore. I do have the right to kill a fetus even though I'm damned if I can find it.

Maybe I can have better luck with delineating by time instead. That would mean the new Constitution is "AD" (After Dictatorship) and the old one is (was) "BC" (Before Cheating).

No, it still sucks.

Clinton’s “living and breathing” Constitution should have been a HUGE sign of what was to come ... Progressives want both to be “living and breathing”. Then they can warp both to suggest that they mean something other than they do.

You're definitely on the right path. Actually, what the extreme far-left radical Democrats (I don't call them "progressives," more on that later) mean by "living and breathing" Constitution is that the Constitution means whatever the extreme far-left radical Democrats want it to mean. And when it gets to that point, the Constitution and Declaration of Independence will have been reduced to two completely meaningless documents, relegated to the ash bin of history.

Let's hand it to the self-described "progressives," they're the masters of language. "Progressive." That actually stands for extreme far-left radical Marxist/Communist Democrat. But the term "progressive" by itself sounds so warm and comforting. They're "progressing," wonderful "progress" is being made. Why would anyone in his right mind be against "progress?" And nobody in his right mind would dispute that "Black Lives Matter." And who could possibly be against "Justice Democrats" because, after all, they're merely well-meaning Democrats simply seeking Justice for all Americans. Surely, nobody would be against something called the "Open Society Foundation." All those terms sound so benign. Democrats are pure genius at crafting names for their various extreme far-left radical Marxist/Communist schemes. That's only a part of the reason Democrats (supposedly "led" by Sleepy Joe) absolutely overwhelmed the snoozing Republicans throughout 2020.

At this late stage, the vast majority of Americans are absolutely certain and thus naturally assume Kamala will be inaugurated on January 20, a mere 25 days from now (oh and biden too). It's debatable whether President Trump and his legal team have the nerve to follow through on what he has subtly implied he'll do. There's surely a lot of talk swirling around DC. But in the 90% chance (my personal WAG estimate) that Congress officially certifies Biden's current Electoral College lead in just 11 days on January 6, will Trump do what he recently told a reporter, who asked whether he'll leave office if Congress certifies Biden's Electoral College "win": "Certainly I will, certainly I will. And you know that."

So based on President Trump's own words to that reporter, if Congress certifies Biden's current electoral vote "lead" on January 6, Trump will enable the transition and peaceably leave the White House on January 20. That's solely based on President Trump's own words.

You are correct.

I was contacted a few weeks before the election & invited to be on this. Of course I eagerly accepted. On the Wednesday before the election, I was told to be ready to fly to DC for a roolout/photo op with Pres. Trump ; the other 14 members. I agreed.

It didn’t develop. About 3 weeks ago I got a call from the WH. Citing the need to move some personnel, Pres. Trump had redeployment me to the Board of Educational Sciences (https://ies.ed.gov/director/board/index.asp)
They made it clear this was a 4-year position NOT subject to Biteme removing me.

My take: The WH knew by then it was unlikely Pres. Trump would succeed in stating on, that Biteme would cancel the 1776 Commission, and that as they told me “we want you to have a role in education

It is possible that bigger names wanted on (Ned Ryan was just put on; so far D’Souza isn’t on). But I think the AH didn’t expect the Commisdion to survive-—but the BES will.

Listen to this really important podcast from Corsi this morning. He says things have changed. Trump back working with Powell, Byrne, etc. (Corsi had interviewed Byrne earlier this week and he had told Byrne, after asked, that he would get Byrne back in communication with Trump.)

Anyway Corsi dropping bombs in here, including that Trump will be asking Pence to step down.
