Stamped steel, white baked enamel, those things wore like a battleship. If you find them in an antique shop and they’re not rusty, they’re perfectly useable.

Hook an electric fence charger to it. Kitty will only touch it once...

LOL!! I remember the holder tray with the wheels. I think ours were clear plastic. Instead of blond furniture, we had mahogany. I think those are fibre glass curtains in that picture too. We had them too. We couldn’t afford carpets, so there was linoleum on the dining and living room floors. We never had an aluminum tree. My mother wouldn’t allow it. We always had real trees. We didn’t have a car so my Dad and brother used to take the sled if there was snow on the ground, or they took the wagon to put put the tree on. Back then a good sized tree only cost about 3 bucks. It was my father’s job to put the tree in the tree stand and get it straight, but the damn thing would fall over at least once during the holidays.

Conclusive proof the Earth is round... If it were flat, cats would have knocked everything over the edge by now.

Call it a dysfunctional relationship, but this is one reason I love them.

This one can be downright sweet when she wants to be. The cat sat in my lap for nearly 2 hours yesterday, purring, pawing and drooling as I rubbed her ears. But when she gets rambunctious-look out! Best rat-catcher I’ve ever seen and is a sheer terror on the local mole population!
The wife does wish the cat wouldn’t leave her many trophies at the front door but it appears there’s no way of stopping that. The wife discovered her as a too-young kitten in a small tree several years ago when she walked down to get the mail. Loves it like a child and since I love the wife, therefore I must tolerate the cat. After we had her fixed we thought she would calm down some. Hasn’t worked yet and that was 5 years ago! At least she’s house broke so things could be worse, I reckon...
