What happened in Nashville today? I’ve been off line. Nashville is a place a visit often even though I live in southern California. It’s like a second home. Very concerning.
Is anybody that stupid? AT&T has a redundant system so other than maybe some local networks, nobody would even notice an outage.
Nope
Our AT&T cell phones were malfunctioning today in North Carolina.
Synopsis:
Old style RV (think Breaking Bad) gets parked on N 2nd Ave next to ATT comm equip building (ugly old red brick 4 story with metal slats) across from Hooters Thur night.
Friday morning around 6 am shots heard, police called.
Police show up and call bomb unit.
RV starts playing recording saying evacuate, bomb
Starts countdown at 15 seconds
Blows up around 6:30
Extensive damage
Takes out 911 and other lines, FAA shuts down airport due to interruptions.
3 hurt maybe one dead.
Not all of that confirmed.
Massive damage from 2nd Ave area and notth
It could be terrorists if they made the announcement so as to increase casualties.
Tell everyone to evacuate (the buildings, presumably) and when everyone is out in the street, the bomb goes off.
I smell Twitter bullshit. And a buncha people neck deep in conspiracy bullshit. This board has devolved into
A bad blog site.
If this had happened 10 years ago the FR crowd would have had at least a dozen high-quality threads sifting thru the reports and providing high-quality analysis. Even on Xmas day.
This place is a shadow of its former glory. Sad.

True enough
Thank you for that nice summary. I know the area very, very well. I’m a singer and musician and perform a lot in the area as well as have many musician friends living in the exact area. Glad to hear there are no known casualties so far. Very sad and VERY odd. Have a nice vacation in Texas. :D
You are so right.
Terrorists would use two different bombs for that.
The whole thing deserves a face palm."

I doubt you're unaware that this is far from the first time the staff of a prominent, busy attorney has failed to properly vet a witness,
I find it most unFReeperlike to disparage a patriotic leader with a plethora of impeccable witnesses -- based on the lone huckster who slipped through the cracks...
OTOH, such behavior would be expected of a shill or a never-Trumper.

I’m on AT&T for cell service. Live in one of the red zones, currently visiting family in another. Last night, I couldn’t call my wife across the house, immediate Call Failed error. Couldn’t call a buddy back home, same error. Internet comms are working fine (iMessage and Facetime) using WiFi on a non-AT&T Internet provider. AT&T Internet back home seems fine, I can get a camera feed at the house from here. But cellular, at least last night, was really messed over.
Another buddy who is a very senior AT&T engineer for another area confirms things are really screwed in Nashville, said it would take years to get everything back right. He might get sucked into the repairs, probably will.
This one bears watching.
Not many folks out & about or workers around at 6:30 Christmas morning...
