“Alabama looked terrible last night and has the usual rash of severe injuries.
Clemson beat Alabama bad last time they played. No reason to think that won’t happen again.”
Florida is good. No one beats Clemson with TL at quarterback.
With only one loss - and that to a Clemson team they had already beaten - Notre Dame could not be kept out. But they will be an easy beat for Alabama.
I am disappointed the ND make it into the final four as well as THE ohio state.
“It will be Alabama - Clemson again in the title game and this time ‘Bama ...”
TL is back. Clemson.
It will be over by the half just like last time ND showed their a$$ in a playoff
“With only one loss - and that to a Clemson team they had already beaten - “
Wasn’t Clemson missing their quarterback when ND won? Other than that they had one top-20 opponent, a #19.
ND should not be there. They cannot compete with a top-10 team.
Notre Dame isn’t even a top 10 team but the Committee is so corrupt they get in anyway. How do you justify 2 teams from one of the weakest leagues in the country?
Notre Dame ALWAYS gets the benefit of the doubt and more votes than they deserve. A&M deserved that 4th spot over Notre Dame. Period. Only loss was to #1. Florida for that matter had a better argument to be there than Notre Dame given games played and schedule strength, but they had their chance.
“It will be over by the half just like last time ND showed their a$$ in a playoff’
ND plays a wimp schedule with a couple of good teams on it which they habitually lose to.
How do you justify 2 teams from one of the weakest leagues in the country?
********
You don’t and there aren,t...
Yes ND beat Clemson when the Tigers were without Trevor Lawrence. But you can only play and beat the teams in front of you. And ND won that game.
I’m not defending the ND pick..... but another thing to be considered is ratings, and ND has a huge national following.
ND got stomped in their last appearance.
“Yes ND beat Clemson when the Tigers were without Trevor Lawrence. But you can only play and beat the teams in front of you. And ND won that game.”
You missed my point. If ND can only beat a good team when that team is missing their quarterback the raters should take that into consideration. Especially after the drubbing yesterday. ND shouldn’t even be in the top 20.
ND has proved time over time they can’t beat a good team. Putting them in the top 4 is political. ND will draw more viewers.
Headline: CFP sells out to ESPN demands and picks The Ohio State Buckeyes over teams that played close to a full schedule.
Why bother with a voting committee? - ESPN ends up picking the teams.
“I’m not defending the ND pick..... but another thing to be considered is ratings, and ND has a huge national following.”
That is why they are there. Sad.
Texas A&M got shafted.
Yep. Purely political/financial decision. Not an on the field result for the #4. No need to even watch the season if the playoffs are the “big attraction”. You know who will be in the playoffs from among six or seven teams. Next year Oklahoma will get back in to get beat up by AL or Clemson. A&M....nope. Remember the year when OSU jumped higher ranked TCU to get in. Same old, same old.
