Jon Ossoff, a Democrat Georgia Senate candidate, believes federal immigration officials should provide workplace protections for illegal immigrants, which includes enforcement of a minimum wage.
Ossoff made the argument at a campaign event over the weekend.
The Democrat was asked by a woman taking advantage of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program what he would do to protect her and her family.
“Dreamers, DACA recipients are every bit as American as any of us, and I will have your back in the U.S. Senate,” replied Ossoff.

In a video posted to his timeline, Jon Ossoff then makes an argument for ICE to ensure illegals are paid a minimum wage.
“In Georgia’s agricultural sector, the campesinos (farm workers) who work in the fields, enduring some of the most brutal conditions of labor anywhere in this country to keep America fed, paid less than the minimum wage, [are] often subject to abuse by employers,” he said.
“When federal agents arrive at one of these farms it should be to make sure people are being paid the minimum wage, working in humane conditions,” added Ossoff.

If this is done, the illegals wouldn’t have a job. They’re only advantage is that they work cheap.
Would stop them undercutting American workers
honestly.. I know this SOUNDS awful... but in reality, one of the reasons illegals have such a negative impact on actual citizens is because they tend to work for much lower wages, which keep pressure on wages in general to remain low. Having said that, it would be even MORE helpful TO DEPORT THEM!
I mean... that would be totally up to Mexico, or the country of origin, but in general, it’s a bad idea. Would cause the same problems as we see here in the US.
R U kidding me? They need to be kicked out.
Minimum wage for illegal invaders should be set at $0.25 per day and a ticket back to where ever they came from
Raise the min. wage to $12.00/hr then I am on board. Yet another good reason for the min wage....
Well, there goes our cheap lettuce and tomatoes.
Not so fast!
This may actually be a great idea!.....................Think about the repercussions!
If employers are required to pay illegals $15 an hour, there won’t be any!................
Exactly. The Dem has a point with an unintended consequence for the liberal wing: With a minimum wage, Illegals will lose their jobs and self-deport.
Then again, the liberals would just want to give them free stuff because they can’t find a job!
In that case, let them set the rate at $50.00 per house. I feel the compassion already.
house = hour
You do know that the PER HEAD cost to pick/pack lettuce is around 20 cents per head. So DOUBLING wage for stoop labor would only increase the price 20 cents per head of a head of lettuce.
Iceberg lettuce is approaching $2/lb/head. So 20 cents is not that much of an increase. But the is for DOUBLING the cost of labor. We are talking a marginal increase of labor and a per head price increase of pennies on the dollar at retail.

Those who vote for him don't seem to realize how much they have to lose if this Commie wins.
And he will win if election procedures aren't tightened up.
Stacy Abrams already says she has over a million absentee ballots ready to go:

It’s like the conservatives in Congress trying to limit or eliminate job-stealing H-1b visas given wholesale to Indians who work for cheaper wages in the tech industry.
The proposal is a mandate that H-1b visa holders be paid higher wages than Americans (that they’re replacing).
That would get the company’s attention.
My guess with illegals is that they’d just work “off the books” like they do now. Who’s going to check?
They’re here though, and being paid under the table, not paying taxes, not paying FICA.
Ossoff and Beto, young brainless imbeciles. I would not trust either to mange a nickel lemonade stand for me, never mind entrust them with making weighty decisions that millions of people will be affected by.
Demonrats only seem to run candidates that are either very evil or very stupid or both.
