I have heard it reported that the reason she has not resigned her senate seat is to have control over who her replacement is. She expects to get something in return for the seat.

She doesn't have anything to play with. What is she going to do? Resign the vice-presidency and keep the seat? She's gone no later than January 20th. The California governor can wait her out and put whoever he wants in there.

According to Wikipedia, Harris took the senator position on 1/3/2017. Thus, no pension for Harris.

Harris has a real job now too, the Senate is still in session until the 21st. Also, she is a committee member in some very important position regarding legal issues like *fraud* for instance. The whore may be needed for some important votes in Biden's/her favor. I can't believe people buy this conspiracy crap of her not resigning yet.

Obama could not wait to get out of the Senate because he is a lazy SOB regarding actual work. That is why he quit so early and set up the "Office of the President-Elect" and just smiled for the cameras after talking in cadence with teleprompters in tow..

It does seems odd. Her current term is done in 2022 and newsome already has several (radical) options lined up for her replacement. [1]. It would give that person a 2 year term without having to be elected...and then by 2022 would be an incumbent and basically a shoe in.

Especially since Newsome is about to get the boot. She better hurry or his successor might end up being a Repub(lite)!
