This is pretty big. I wonder if DNI Director John Ratcliffe will present what's going on here in his report to Trump Friday.

I saw reports GMAIL is not working correctly. Makes me wonder how GMAIL is connected to that particular network

Its huge, sipr involves a lot of logistic stuff as well as Intel. Cant be more specific but lots of things are involved in it.

Where is the entry point for this hacking?
To: White Lives Matter
This is massive. Most of the work done by the Joint Staff and the Services is on SIPR. The CI damage assessment is going to be a long process.

Yeah, that is why I wondered about it.
Dont really know if any other types of services are not working - like yahoo.
If so, should wonder about them too.

This kind of thing is the reason why certain people have paper only files - allegedly.
I have no first hand knowledge.

My question is what the enemy will be doing while U.S. is preoccupied with network shutdown.
To: madison10
Belay that. It is just very slow.

It is for me.
So perhaps mine is not on whatever backbone this is or whatever jargon is appropriate.

Since Biden is so cozy with China, why don't we just ask him to talk to his handlers friends

Makes me wonder how GMAIL is connected to that particular network SolarWinds is everywhere, so it probably is a source of trouble for GMAIL out here in the world.
But GMAIL itself is not on SIPRNet. SIPRNet is a closed system.

This doesn’t give the enemy free reign to do what they want. The lion-share of national Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) is on JWICS, not SIPR.
This is an inconvenience. There will be damage assessments. But not a show-stopper by any means.
Off the top of my head, China now has a snap shot of our basic national and defense strategy, intelligence requirements, force posture, and defense programs— many of which is confirmation of what they already knew.
