BREAKING BIG — The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) on Sunday night issued Emergency Directive 21-01, in response to a KNOWN COMPROMISE involving SolarWinds Orion products.
This was only the fifth Emergency Directive issued by CISA under the authorities granted by Congress in the Cybersecurity Act of 2015.

We use it where I work and got the emergency shut down as well.
WiFi is everywhere and in everything, and invisible....................
Is it possible that the Youtube & Google outages are related?
The timing seems strange - is CISA stopping the bad players from covering their tracks?
I have no evience, but it wouldn't be a bad guess that Google (who owns YouTube) used SolarWinds software.
“WiFi is everywhere and in everything, and invisible....................”
Not in everything. Not invisible.
SolarWinds Orion products = Made in china?
A WiFi receiver can be on a single IC, or hidden inside a benign IC of another type.
All it has to do is ‘listen’ then transmit what it heard when nobody is watching................

A hack initially corrupted a Solarwinds file, after which, that corrupted Solarwinds file had/has been installed on various Windows OS based machines as a part of routine updating.
The hacked file hatches, you might say, active hack commands that find certain files and deletes those certain files.
The hack tries to hide its tracks, and then force a reboot of the Windows OS based machine.
It is a cover-up.
“All it has to do is ‘listen’ then transmit what it heard when nobody is watching................”
How does it know when nobody is ‘watching’?
A 100+MB file can be sent in less time than it takes me to type this sentence............
A system knows when nodes are “connected.” Its pretty basic stuff.
“A system knows when nodes are “connected.” Its pretty basic stuff.”
So, we know when the ‘spy’ is connected.
Also, we can see the ‘spy’ signal without connecting.
That is rising above my “skill set.” My background was telecom networks...so I am all about “connective” stuff—POTS.
Wireless stuff beyond getting headsets connected are above my pay grade. That means its “magic.”
Yeah, but they claim it was the most secure and honest election ever. Oops, guess they are all Rip Van Winkle’s in reality. Forever asleep on their jobs.
CISA. Guaranteeing the most secure election in history....
It's happening everywhere in Financial Services as I type this. We've isolated all our Solar Winds servers and are in process of shutting them down.
We use Solarwinds to monitor the servers. When a office connection goes down we are notified.
What I see in our email today:
Over the weekend it was announced that some versions of the Solarwinds Orion monitoring software were compromised by a supply chain attack. Our installed version is included in this list so out of precaution we will be shutting down the Solarwinds servers until we can get the newest hotfix installed (Solarwinds ETA is Tuesday).
