Ultimately, all we would be doing is kicking the can down the road and not addressing the actual rot. Whatever dream republic utopia we think we’d gain would eventually be overrun by the same parasites and cities.
Any suggestions?

I see your point. However, an upgraded constitution that improves on our current version might forestall rot. For example, strong immigration enforcement, term limits on SCOTUS justices, senators and congressman are a great start, as are some sensible wording on balanced budgets/debt and the protection of the vote (e.g., voter ID and voting only on election day). Other improvements would be welcome and helpful.
Universal franchise wouldn’t work. Only land owners and/or military veterans having the vote would be the only way to go. Heinlein had it right sixty years ago.
Can we at least expel California?
They think their comfort zones are gonna get a whole lot bigger, but I don’t think we’re gonna see any real New Normal(s), just an extremely uncomfortable present tense for a few years, and I’m very uncomfortable with the idea that I’d still be expected to follow some of the same rules and laws that others have broken and continue to break with impunity. This “world” of theirs doesn’t even exist until you try to imagine it. However, there are no picture-perfect worlds that could be developed and maintained by groups of individuals, tribes, communes, co-op’s, etc. like those we have been seeing and hearing in action for at least 6 months now. What they and the MSM, or media wing of the Democrat Party, have created for themselves is a pseudoverse where they own it, they control it, they update it, they protect it, they swear by it and expect everyone else to believe what they instinctively know not to be true. I wish I had a rocking chair, a jug of moonshine, a 12-guage 2x barrel shotgun and a case of shells I could sit out on my front porch with...and a pronounced nervous tick in my right eye that kicks in every time I think about it.
