Why Rush Limbaugh Was Right When He Said America Is “Trending Toward Secession”
Bongino ^ | December 12, 2020 | John Hawkins

It’s ultimately about the fact that for a country to hold together there need to be a lot of shared values. If half the country believes in the values that made America successful in the first place while the other half of the country is demanding to live in some sort of atheistic socialist utopia that hates everything those other people believe in and stand for, we have what is known in a marriage as irreconcilable differences. Once our value systems are that far apart, there is no such thing as a win/win situation. This is why the standard political strategy for both sides is now to refuse to work with the other side as much as possible in hopes that the public will blame the people in charge for the inaction. Cooperation between both sides collapses because anything one side favors is considered to be taking the country in the wrong direction by the other side.

Quite frankly, if the country were more easily geographically divided up as it was in the Civil War, the nation may have already broken apart. That doesn’t mean that’s a good thing or that it has to go that way, but it does mean people should be much more concerned about this possibility than they seem to be today. The success we enjoy today is largely the result of the work, culture, and foresight of previous generations of Americans. There are absolutely no guarantees that we will continue to live in a country that is strong, prosperous, free, or even together as a nation in the next few years or decades to come. That depends on all of us across the ideological spectrum, which given the state of the country over the last few years, should scare the hell out of everyone.

And the agricultural areas of CA, MN, and IL are red as well.

Irreconcilable differences.

We had better get this divorce over with before we kill each other.

Has anyone thought of what a secession agreement would look like? How could we be broken up? I’m sure some of you have given it some thought.

What we really need is the right of counties to secede from their states and form new states.

The counties could group together with counties from surrounding states to increase an existing state or form a new one.

The end result would be isolated cities that no one in their right-mind wants to support! Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Fransisco...etc

What is of utmost importance is for a region to be able to claw itself away from the liberal, crooked, mismanaged, bankrupt cities.

There would be a lot of new red-states and a motley collection of liberal, rump city-states.

No one who is sane would live in the cities...the brain-drain would be massive.

If there’s to be any secession it should be the cesspool cities or they should be encapsulated in their stench.

We Don’t Need No Stinkin Cities

Food, water, power and know how .... we got it

Nobody said it would be easy but it is doable and I would much prefer to live free even if I have to do with less and work harder to get by than to live under an oppressive tyranny. Wouldn’t you? If not you need to just go full commie and move on the the MSNBC website with the rest of the naysayers. Thank God the founders did not have the can’t do anything attitude some of you have else we would still be paying high taxes for tea.

The country as founded is already broken apart at so many levels. Really, states as they stand, are just geographic regions under a federal corruptocracy. The idiotic blue and red state labels are too simplistic. To say we will be safe in a red state is fallacy as we now see the maggots from failed blue states rot red states away and now know elections are permanently embedded with fraud and nothing will be done about it.

Has there ever been a civil conflict with our current societal conditions? I mean we make the Roman’s version of bread and circuses completely ridiculous and ineffectual in comparison. We actually made the poorest the most likely to be obese. We are the most passively entertained people ever and the least used to hard physical labor. It’s hard for me to imagine how it would work given my understanding of human nature.

“Whatever dream republic utopia we think we’d gain would eventually be overrun by the same parasites and cities.”

I see your point. However, an upgraded constitution that improves on our current version might forestall rot. For example, strong immigration enforcement, term limits on SCOTUS justices, senators and congressman are a great start, as are some sensible wording on balanced budgets/debt and the protection of the vote (e.g., voter ID and voting only on election day). Other improvements would be welcome and helpful.

But what does TX do with Austin? What does UT do with Salt Lake? Or Idaho with Boise? MO has two big blue cities. Within the boundaries of the reddest states are the bluest cities.

The divide is urban and coastal v. everyone else.

This is a time for a national confession of our sins.

I would be curious to see what would happen to conservative areas stuck in liberal states if succession happened. Eastern WA, for example, would fix in quite well in a newly-formed conservative country but would those on the other side of the Cascade Curtain let them go?

USA should remain as a generation similiar to the EU but not as powerful or draconian. There should be 5 or 6 nations in USA. We should have freedom of movement and same currency but otherwise each nation will make their own laws. Abortion is illegal in Alabama but you can get one in California. You can drive a pickup truck in Texas but in California you are restricted to either a Tesla or Prius vehicle. You will sing the national anthem in Oklahoma while in Oregon you will do the BLM or ANTIFA chant.

I hopefully will be moving up my timetable to move to my property in Florida from NH.
Between the snow, constant power outages, and freaking libs it is becoming unbearable.
If the conservative states begin any move towards sucession, I’ll run down there and live in a tent down there until my home is built.

Buy a cheap older motorhome to bunk in, and likely sell it for the same $$ after a year since it’s not accumulating miles. But be sure to dump it before Biden runs gas up to 4 bucks.
