A statewide survey conducted by the Strongsville, Ohio GOP asked respondents “If a qualified Republican ran against Governor DeWine in the Republican primary, for whom would you vote?”
Only 23.8% said they would vote for DeWine, while an unnamed “qualified Republican” would get 39.2% of the vote. Thirty-six percent were not sure and 1% would support an “other” candidate.
“That’s not necessarily the spot you want to be in if you’re going into a primary,” said Strongsville GOP President Shannon Burns. “We had heard talk from legislators and other stakeholders about the Governor and his high popularity – so we wanted to test it.”
Burns noted “and when you look at the number of people surveyed, 8339 likely Republican primary voters – that’s significant. For perspective, that’s 10-times to 15-times higher than the number of people who were being polled (around 600 to 800 people) by the polling services going into the last primary.”...

For your consideration.
Ohio, the State of John Richard Kasich Jr.
What constitutes a qualified Republican these days! WTH??? Believe in the constitution and freedom and that makes you qualified!!!!
Ohio, ain’t too smart.
Well, many have said over the years that Ohio State is a know-nothing party school....
Jim Jordan is an exception.
The incumbent GOPe reptiles need to be chastised and sent howling into the woods by Republican voters in the 2022 primaries.
Ohio Republicans are like most voters, the vote for the candidate who’s name the know best. Which is why for decades if your name was Brown and you ran for office you had a very good chance of getting elected.
People voted for DeWine because Kasich kept him in the lime light.
Politics in Ohio is the same as most states, it’s a popularity contest.
I didn’t want DeWine because I had watched him for years and knew he was anti-gun. I voted against him in the primary but was pretty sure that he would win because he had Name Recognition.
When they say that there is no bad publicity, they mean name recognition. Unless your name gets associated with something truly vile, you’re okay.
At least DeWine had an honest election Trump 53% YET Michigan Biden wins NO WAY!!{
At least he’s not in the senate.
I doubt very much that this would worry DeWine. Because his vote stealing operation would still be in tact. He can simply use it to win.
Which in a way is kind of surprising, because DeWine is not a Trump fan.
Or the Democrats did plan for a huge Trump win in Ohio.
It could be that the Democrats concentrated their money where they thought they had the best chance of succeeding. After all they only needed 270 Electoral Votes. They chose the 5 battled ground states they needed to win. They could have chosen Ohio, but Pennsylvania has 2 more electoral votes.
I wouldn’t give DeWine any credit for honesty he doesn’t deserve.
We voted for Trump, overwhelmingly, twice, only have one Democrat in the past decade win statewide election, elected Jim Jordan to office and have an extremely conservative state legislation. Not a bad overall track record.
We need all Republican members to join in a new Party called the Conservative Party. With Trumps help we can muster 75m voters. We can rid the new Party of the GOPEE snakes and back stabbers which is most of them. BOYCOTT FOX
I will not vote for him in the next Ohio Gubernatorial primary.
If he is renominated I would be forced to vote for him. I only hope that the Ohio GOP forces his out & finds a suitable alternative.
I say this with a very heavy heart I always liked DeWine, but he has been a disaster.
He was better than Brown is!
So have most all of the Clinton Impeachment Managers. DeWine, Lindsey Graham, Asa Hutchinson, all pretty much phonies.
Never Trumper’s are going to take a real beating in the next elections.
