So it’s OK if I beat a home-invader to death with a cast iron skillet?
Asking for a friend. :-)

“I’m not condoning stealing, it is against the law,” Meza says, “but it’s not an offense that is punishable by death.”
The thief thinks it is worth their life. Who are you to complain?

Here's the Demonicrat the 105th District dumped into the Texas House.

“...too eager to pull the trigger when facing armed home invaders....”
“... homeowners would still be allowed to defend their lives, but not using firearms...”
Please, Terry Meza, explain to me how you defend yourself against an ARMED home intruder?????
I guess she thinks you can use movements like in “The Matrix” to just dodge the bullets...

“I’m not condoning stealing, it is against the law,” Meza says, “but it’s not an offense that is punishable by death.”Well, yes it is. In Texas. But this bill will require the three step self defense mode. Shoot the b*****d, shovel, and shut up.

England went this route and now it is illegal to harm an intruder even if the intruder harms you.Are you sure about that? I did a search and every answer I found stated you can use force up to and including deadly force to protect your home, and you don't have to wait to be attacked.
To: PROCON
If you break into my home, you have already committed a criminal act and I can only assume, based on your criminal actions, that your intentions are also potentially homicidal. My life, and that of my family, shouldn’t be forfeit to giving ‘you’, a criminal already for breaking into my home, the benefit of the doubt.

PS: Well just run outside then invade your own home. When the intruder attacks you then they’d be at fault for attacking a home invader.

Can’t see such a bill going very far in Texas. This clown must be a beyond full-blossomed idiot. Doubt the SCOTUS would vote for it as well.

Make sure you have a big backyard, most thieves won’t really be missed if they suddenly disappear, and don’t report the breakin to the police.

The legislature is not in session.
It will be in January.
To: PROCON
If someone is willing to break into your home; the only wise consideration is the conclusion that they are willing to kill you as well. Therefore, break into my house, I’m going to do my best to kill you (against the law or not). I may go to jail, at least my family will live.

Insanity, how in the heck do these people get elected....in TEXAS? Texas is not nearly as red as people here imagine it to be. And the trends aren’t good. It’s probably only an election or two away from flipping. Demographics in Texas are not in our favor.

... a very worrying piece of legislation was introduced by Irving State Representative Terry Meza ... seeks to repeal the Castle Doctrine, preventing a homeowner from using firearms to defend their property ... when facing armed home invaders ... "[which is] not an offense that is punishable by death."Terry instead recommends using your TV remote control, if you still feel it's necessary to defend yourself (your family and your home) against "armed home invaders" who have guns, knives, etc. I guess you're just supposed to change the channel.
Democrat politicians are literally insane.
