Rome was evil incarnate. But, like the Plantagenet period in English history, it did manage to establish some good, such as laws and building roads..etc.
To Romans, anyone who were not Roman were barbarians. Hannibal, was a barbarian to them. Yet Carthage was a far more advanced society than the Romans were for a time.
“ There will be another election in 2024, the country won’t melt in 4 years. Yes, damage may be done, but it won’t be destroyed as this action would do.”

There were elections in every Communist country, too. So what? If these bastards could cheat so nakedly this time around while NOT controlling the Executive Branch and being in the minority on SCOTUS, what on Earth makes you think that we could have a remotely fair election after the Courts are packed, there are 4-8 new Dem Senators because of admitting new states, and 20 million new Dem voters are amnestied and made into voting citizens?
Normalcy bias is a thing...yeah, so is paranoia, but when you listen to what the Leftists have promised, what I have laid out above isn’t fantasy, but mire like a certainty. No one WANTS this, but the Dems are incredibly power-hungry and will literally not stop at anything to acquire it.
Overthrowing the government and rejecting the Constitution is? It's in the hands of the states. No state has to tolerate criminality in the election process. They'll have to step up.
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.-
Overturning the Constitution isn’t a solution. An armed takeover of the government, which btw wouldn’t happen, to maintain President Trump in office is the end of the nation. Not 4 years of Biden. States will have to live up to their responsibility to conduct honest elections.
At least you're honest, you're advocating the overthrow of the government as it has existed.
A republic,if you can keep it..
Retaining power by discarding Congress and the Judiciary, two co-equal branches of government, accomplishes what other than dictatorship? I would not agree to that if the Democrats tried it and I won't agree to Republicans trying it as well. I think Trump has far more respect for the Constitution than that.
1. We have a government based upon the (sacred to most, and definitely to all here) proposition that we are a free people, and that free people get to choose their own leaders through the mechanism is free and fair elections. That government and proposition are embodied in the Constitution.
2. Arguably, President Trump was the winner of the 2020 Presidential election, and not by a little.
3. Despite #2, it is becoming increasingly clear that there are enough people in positions of power (in both parties, the courts and the media) who absolutely do NOT subscribe to #1, and that the will of the people will be thwarted with the installation of Biden (nominally) as POTUS. All indications are that those who engineered this result will aggressively continue to change laws (using the Constitution as a fig leaf for that) to ensure that only one party CAN win the Presidency or control of either House of Congress.
4. Given #3, of what value is the Constitution to a people that wishes to be free in the face of a large, well-organized, well-disciplined, utterly immoral and power-hungry cabal that seemingly can thwart the will of the people without too much effort!
I see your point.
This is not your hill to die on. Maybe Pedo Joe and the Ho will bring a sense of unity (CCP style) to the nation. And when the Deep State pulls another outrageous and illegal stunt, then maybe we do something.
Except there will be no Trump - no great opposition leader - to stand up for us.
“ States will have to live up to their responsibility to conduct honest elections.”

What if they won’t? What if the same cabal of people who stole the election purposefully planned the corruption of the very states which COULD stop the steal? What then - suck it up and live under an ever-increasing yoke of tyranny because...rules?
The other side, by its act of cheating, has just cancelled the rules, at least for itself. For anyone opposing them to continue to adhere to the rules sounds great (moral, even), but it is a guarantee of failure. That’s why we elected Trump, to fight the Leftists within our system of rules - and their response when it looked like he was winning was to say, “Screw the rules, we want everything RIGHT NOW!”
When they come to take you and your family to the camps, I hope that you have more than a copy of the Constitution in your hands, because that’s not going to work
Yahoo news don’t make us laugh.
He may very well be one of them! We need to zot him!
The sedition act IS the law.
bttt
I have one statement and one question to ask of you, and this is done in the best of faith by someone raised to be moral, treat others well and obey the law.
The statement is this: NONE of us on this thread wants the scenario in the subject article to occur. We all have depended, like the vast majority of our fellow citizens going back to our respective youth, on free and fair elections, of the peaceful transition of power when a person or party lost power, of both parties abiding by the rules (formal and customary) at least 85% of the time, etc. These things have Ssn partly responsible for this nation being the envy of the world, and the go-to destination for refugees and others seeking liberty for well over 200 years. No one wants to see that go away, to have our land, our precious nation, become just another unstable and otherwise crappy country.
BUT...
...now we’re in a situation where powerful people who do NOT share the ideals mentioned above have massively cheated to steal the Presidency. They are intent upon permanently changing our laws, our court system even the very number of states in the union, to permanently solidify and ensure that they never lose power. Their words, not mine or anyone else’s.
Given that background, here’s the question:
If the other side absolutely refuses to play by the rules, and changes those rules so that you can NEVER win, what do you do now, when at least there is SOME power (power legally put into place by past Congresses in the era when everyone pretty much played by the rules) to stop such a seizure of power? What is YOUR plan? You are fine with criticizing the plan laid out in the article - and, again, I would REALLY like to avoid that plan - but what would YOU propose as a solution that actually has a chance to succeed?
Sincerely and in good faith waiting for what anyone has to say that is constructive. Thanks.
I’ll take a crack at it.
While it looks like a steal, and quacks like a steal, it’s only a steal if it can be proven in law.
I prefer the rule of law.
And the Trump team has yet to put forward adequate proof to the law. I believe if they do at some point, he will prevail.
And if not, Biden will be sworn in on Jan 20th.
I heard the term “American Pinochet” a while back and now I wonder if it is apt for this circumstance.
