Update on Arizona Presidential Election Status 8 November, 2020

Much of the future of the gun culture and the Second Amendment will depend on the ongoing elections and vote count.

As I live in Arizona, I thought this update would be of interest.

As of Sunday morning, 8 November, 2020:

In Arizona, the counting continues to a razor's edge finish. With about 97% of the votes counted, candidate Biden continues to maintain a fragile lead over President Donald Trump.

President Trump has 1,612,585 votes counted so far, in the uncertified total.

Candidate Biden has  1,631,195 votes counted so far, in the uncertified total.

Candidate Jorgensen has 49,406 votes counted so far, in the uncertified total.

There are about 100,000 votes yet to be counted.

President Trump will need to have 59.5% of those votes to obtain a more votes than candidate Biden.

That is very close to the percentage of the late votes that have been for President Trump.

The Libertarian candidate, Jo Jorgensen, was clearly the spoiler in this race. The vast majority of Libertarian votes would come from otherwise small government Republicans. There are no small government Democrats.

The State is almost certain to have a challenge of the votes cast.

There is likely to be a recount, especially of paper ballots.

The trend is for a virtual tie in the Arizona vote.

There will almost certainly be a recount.

Best guess, slight advantage to President Trump.

I really want that nasty piece of work Meghan Mccain to be repudiated in Arizona.

Yeah. Congratulations to all the virtue-signalling Libertarians in Arizona.

Voting Libertarian is only fun when it doesn't really count.

Said this in another thread, worth repeating:

If Trump “flips” Arizona the narrative is almost immediately destroyed. It’s especially true because of the fact that it was called by a number of outlets. If we can make them wrong on that we take back the authority of our word. When we say that GA is not done, we can point to AZ. Same with NC, NV and PA is an obvious one. Everyone needs to be clear that PA is NOT done. Public Opinion and the PR of it all can be ours with AZ. Doesn’t mean without AZ this isn’t doable but AZ makes it infinitely easier. BTW, if we do “flip” Arizona it’s up to every single one of us to use this as a weapon. Take the info to friends and family and point out (no matter what they say about other states) that they said the same thing about AZ.

She had a right to run, but dang. I heard pro-life Kanye actually peeled away Trump voters, too.

Took the words right out of my fingers.

The Libertarians vote to prove a point and all they do is fail the rest of the country. Instead of getting candidates into the GOP and run in that party and correct it from within, their selfish attitudes will cost ALL the rest of us dearly.

Thanks for the kind words.

They'll get their weed, that's all that really matters to them.

It's my understanding lawsuits in various states alleging vote fraud are being filed tomorrow. AZ is one of the disputed states.

Even if Trump comes up short on the original vote count, the lawsuits may change the ultimate result.

The controversy over the Sharpie usage may well be genuine vote fraud, or at least labeled as an irregularity. At first poo poo'd, (including many Eeyores on FR -- the same usual suspects), a lawsuit on that issue has already been filed. One Maricopa county official has gone on the record stating Sharpies DO invalidate the ballot.

Don't give up yet. Ignore the media and pray justice prevails in the end.

The rat ballot software was used in AZ too. Anyone doing anything about that?

There are about 100,000 votes yet to be counted.

It’s almost 1 week since the election and AZ still has 100,000 ballots remaining to be counted? What is the deal? Do they have just one old arthritic retiree with bad eyesight counting ballots?

I think most of Jo Jorgensen’s support came from college-age people who would not have voted for Trump, anyway. Her campaign was highly visible around the ASU campus, but I hardly even saw a sign anywhere else. Her voters were probably non-voters, if she had not run.

Good information. Let’s hope for a recount.

Arizona has apparently gone the way of California and Nevada, thus leaving the GOP with nothing of consequence west of Texas (which is also endangered).

Hard to believe that Arizona now has two leftist RAT senators.

BTW, we definitely have a problem in Georgia as well.

The electoral map for Republicans is rapidly shrinking to the point of making it virtually impossible to win.

Good point. A flip in AZ would really give substance to the idea that this thing is not over.

Those effing Libertarians always mess it up for the republican. Shane Hazel is the reason Perdue is in a runoff with Ossof.

True...but remember that the Green party basically won the presidency for DJT in 2016.

They are afraid Trump will win - so they are in no hurry. If they thought Biden had it, they would be done by now.
