Opinion: Rush Limbaugh: The Measure of a Man’s Courage in the Face of Adversity
Red State ^ | Oct 25 2020 | Mike Ford

What is the measure of a man’s courage? Is it measured by jumping on an enemy grenade to save his friends? Is it boldly braving enemy fire to pull one of his comrades from the brutal bloodbath of an enemy ambush? Both of those are great examples, but they miss a critical element…Fear. Fear can take many forms, both rational and irrational.

In some cases fear can be fairly brief, such as a two minute free fall, accompanied by the opening shock of the parachute, at which point the fear is replaced by relief. The same applies in many combat situations… a brief, but very loud firefight, followed up by relief at being alive, and then caring for the wounded (often followed by the shakes). Then, there is fear that extends over a long period of time, making it difficult to even get out of bed in the morning and face the new day. Regardless of duration, there can be no courage without fear. ...

Limbaugh’s condition is much worse than mine was—and with a much darker prognosis. Yet, except for treatment days, he sallies forth to do battle with the left every single day. He doesn’t whine about the unfairness of it all. His reports on his condition are matter of fact and short. He continues to reserve the vast majority of his airtime to fight the good, conservative fight. He continues to uplift his listeners. He also makes no bones about his major goal, to survive long enough to help re-elect President Donald Trump and see him inaugurated in January.

Here is the article Rush mentioned. God Bless Rush, long may he speak.

I was lucky in that in 1992 I attended a Rush TV Show, good time.

I attended a Rush TV show in 1992 as well. After the show, Rush was very gracious and spent time speaking with members of the audience. He is genuine in every way.

In my daily prayers I often include Rush; that he may live long enough to see Pres Trump re-elected and sworn in (again) as the President of this wonderful country.

May the Lord find favor in our land once again.

May the Lord grant us another 4 years to set ourselves back on the correct path.

Amen.

I was supposed to go to a Rush to Excellence Tour event but then my wife decided to go into the hospital. I guess I’m too good of a husband.

But here’s my Rush story.

I was at the office one day around 1993 or so. I’d been a Rush fan since his first day of national syndication and was listening at my desk. A co-worker came in and heard it. He told me that his best friend was one of Rush’s producers. (Remember the man on the street?)

I didn’t believe him and told him that to prove it, I needed an autographed photo with my name on it.

He grabbed the phone off my desk and made a call.

I still have the photo somewhere. I need to find it and hang it in my office.
