When you think of funk, you think of Parliament Funkadelic or Prince. But this jam from Cameo was underrated and is a classic! Taking a break from the rock this weekend and (Soul Train voice) going into some soul, brotha!

I like funk so much more than hip hop.
My 3rd go-to channel (After Patriot 125 and a rock station) is Channel 50 on Sirius XM. That’s the Groove channel that plays all the throwback soul, funk, and old-school classics.
The funk of the 70s and early 80s was awesome.
I have a bunch of it on my iPod.
Hate cRap and hip hop.
“When you think of funk, you think of Parliament Funkadelic or Prince.”
No, I don’t.
What the hell is the compulsion, for so many, to speak for others?
The song title Candy reminds me of another one called
“Sugar Walls”. Written by Prince, performed by Sheena Easton in 1984. The lyrics got this song listed on the Parent’s Music Resource Center’s “Filthy 15” list (along with Prince’s other song ‘Darling Nikki). This lead to the introduction of Parent Advisory Stickers on explicit releases.
My favorite is Mother’s Finest. To me the all around most talented.

That’s my favorite Cameo song.
I really loved Cameo. Lots of fun soul and R&B in the 70s and 80s. It’s so wretched now.
Mine too .
Love it to death.
The KORN version is good, too but the video is weird as hell.
o.O
I shook my booty to funk throughout the 70’s when I was young and single.
