It’s happening.
After 50 years of absolute Democrat corruption and destruction the black community is looking for change.
And it’s not going to be with Joe “You Ain’t Black” Biden.
Last night’s debate was devastating for Joe Biden and the Democrats.
Depite a favorable list of topics and a biased liberal moderator, Joe Biden could not seal the deal.
Biden flopped.
And President Trump pounding Joe Biden on his outrageous comments in the 90’s about “predator” young black males hit the target.
On Friday Rasmussen Report’s numbers on black voters and Trump was up to 46%!
This is devastating news for Democrats who need at least 80% of the black vote to remain relevant.

I had seen a site that showed 11%, one done well after the election, but I cannot find it now.
But either way, 8% or 11% in 2016, Trump is undoubtedly going to do far better this time around, and that is cause for great celebration on two counts: first, it bodes well for this particular election; second, it at least offers a great deal of hope that the Democrat lock on the votes of the black community is finally beginning to disappear - their virtual plantation is beginning to be dismantled by the black community itself finally opening their eyes to the utterly empty rhetoric of the Dems since at least the Great Depression regarding their community.
If Trump even gets 15% of their vote, that is of massive significance; if it is higher, we will have witnessed a fundamental realignment in American politics, and Trump will have taken advantage of the clear failure of the Dems to do anything of significance for the black community, which the Republicans can take advantage of for years and decades to come - if THEY continue delivering, like Trump has; if not, things will return to how they have been for all of our lifetimes...and then, someday, the Dems will control the WH and both Houses, and fundamentally remake our system such that there will never be another Republican President or control of either House. So the Republicans had damned well better continue to do the right thing in treating the black community like any other, or our country is soon going to be over - a one-party country like Cuba, Venezuela or the old USSR, with similar results.

“Going pedal-to-the-metal to press them for ideological orthodoxy would be a HUGE mistake IMHO.”
Agreed. The respectful thing to do is exactly what anyone would do who is trying to convince a close friend or relative that they’ve been wrong in the past, which is to present facts and perhaps a bit of your logic, and to then back off a bit, let that person think, and ultimately to let them make up their own mind. We simply cannot treat the black community as a whole, or any particular person within it, any differently. To do so would not only be stupid, it would be morally wrong.

Also, Trump brilliantly and intentionally misunderstood Biden - framing the statement as an error instead of as an insult.

“I have my doubts about 46% approval from the black community, but Ill take half that, and be pleasantly surprised by any more that show up and vote accordingly.”
Just a thought, Blacks are not monolithic.
Which Blacks is he polling?
The weed smokin’, chillin’, gang bangers or the hard working, I got a job Blacks?
The first group doesn’t vote! Too busy gettin’ high, committing crimes, and makin’ baby mamas.

To his credit Donald Trump has challenged the black community to re-think its blind allegiance to the Democrat Party. Recall his 2016 statement: What the hell do you have to lose?
Trump has produced major initiatives for them in less than four years. That accomplishment sparked a realization among many blacks that the Democrat Party (and the Obama administration in particular) has not been walking the talk. It has been a bit of a wake up call for them and reason to question why they have reliably remained on the Democrat plantation for so long.
Trump has a unique way of exposing things that dont make sense. Its really uncanny how often he does it.

My wife was born and raised in Mexico (don’t worry, she’s legal; more than that, being not merely Hispanic by culture and a woman, but also Jewish, she’s been on board with Trump and conservatism in general since I started boring her to death with politics over 20 years ago). That, combined with living in San Antonio, gives me a pretty decent perspective (from the Gringo side of things) on how a lot of Hispanics think from a political POV.
Hispanics are, by and large, Catholic and morally conservative. That leads them to understand that one is responsible for one’s own actions - even guys who have been to prison will say, years later, “I deserved that, I was stupid and did wrong.” They absolutely do NOT want to be patronized or see themselves as victims, and the Democrats seem to think that they can apply the same model and means that they have used to keep the black community on their plantation to Hispanics - and it just doesn’t work. Oh, it is definitely somewhat effective among new immigrants (especially coupled with lots of money), but those who have been here for a while, or their entire lives, don’t buy that crap - they have more respect for themselves than that. Finally, Hispanics respect strength - at least moral courage, because even if someone is going to lose the fight because they lack the physical means to win, they’ll root for that person because they have CAJONES. The whole bit with the Dems of cow-towing to ANY foreigners is sickening to them. Oh, and at least most of the working class Hispanics that I know just LOVE their guns...and every one of them knows EXACTLY who the Dems are. On that last issue, just ask a working class Hispanic gun owner what he thinks of “Beto” O’Rourke, anti-gun Irish Bob with the silver spoon in his mouth that came not from HIS work, but from his WIFE’S family, pretending to be one of them - that is truly entertainment that you do not want to miss; the words, their rhythm, the hand and facial gestures, the tone...no combination of George Carlin, Sam Kinison, Jerry Seinfeld, George Burns and Bill Cosby could possibly be funnier.

I have a new theory about Biden’s Lincoln gaffe last night.
Many FReepers have suspected that Biden received instructions through an earpiece during debates.
Here is what could have happened:
The Presidents says “I have done more for black people than any President since Abraham Lincoln”.
Biden’s aides yell into the earpiece: “This is it. We got him. Trump is no Abraham Lincoln. He is a racist.”
But, Biden wasn’t paying attention to his earpiece and did not catch the first few words. What Biden heard was:
“Abraham Lincoln is a racist.”
and the rest was history....and Biden was history!

“He listed his contributions toward the black community and there was this passion in his voice that I rarely see. Its like pride mixed with compassion and concern.”
Because that is exactly who Donald Trump is, completely contrary to how the Dems and their media lackeys portray him. He has been hanging around working class laborers of every ethnic group imaginable since he was 10 or 12 years old, and he sees them as people, period; race, etc. is just a non-issue for him. Further, as a (pretty damned good) businessman, he understands that every person’s money is green, and where they’re from, what their skin tone is, what religion they practice, etc. are utterly irrelevant to him.
On top of that, any thinking person has to ask and think about why a guy who was 69 years old, with a gorgeous wife, 5 great kids (including one who was then 9), grandkids and more on the way, worth billions of dollars, with homes, planes, yachts, the admiration of everyone in his social group, etc., would run for President knowing the shark tank that he was jumping into. It could not possibly have been to make more money - putting aside the fact that he’s lost a bunch since coming down that escalator, the money actually doesn’t mean anywhere near as much to him now as it did 30 or 40 years ago. His family - going to at least his very young grandchildren’s own grandchildren - will be wealthy beyond belief, so even a doubling or tripling of his fortune wouldn’t do anything for him or them. What, then, was his motivation? I, of course, cannot say for sure. But a 69-year-old guy is almost certainly going to be thinking about what his life has meant, and what it will mean to those who survive him. An extraordinarily wealthy guy of that age, with a strong drive to not just be the best at everything he does, but to be noticed as being the best - well, that person is going to understand that merely being super wealthy isn’t that much. The world rarely remembers the wealthy - you can name historically-known rich people from before the Robber Baron era on one hand; but politicians who do extraordinarily good things are remembered (as are their opposites, of course). To take a country in decline morally, economically, in terms of influence and power around the world, and to turn that around and, while doing so, to help millions or tens of millions have a better life and a better future for THEIR kids and grandkids...well, THAT is going to be a fantastic legacy. People remember that and, much more importantly, it will allow him to reflect on his life near its end with great personal satisfaction.
So, IMHO, those are among the things that have motivated him, and they fully explain why he has that passion and pride that you mentioned.

“We have him or Biden Harris. Let him drive voters away from them.”
First of all, people (even on our side) still largely haven’t come to grips with the mindset of Trump, which is that of a businessman and NOT a politician. He does what he believes will work, period. He understands that it takes an investment (monetary or otherwise) to accomplish things, and if pissing off a few unimaginative people who aren’t even looking very closely at the details of what he’s done is the investment/cost necessary to shift even 1% of the votes of the black community to his side, then that is a damned good trade-off.
Second, even though he is not by training, experience or inclination a politician, Trump is (once again - for maybe the 50th time in his life) proving to be incredibly successful at something that NO ONE thought he could do even moderately well. For being in politics for 5 years, he’s running circles around most of his opposition - and those who have not had that experience should be thankful that Trump is operating in an extremely target-rich environment, meaning that he hasn’t had the time to focus on them...yet.
BTW, that bit about doing what people say that he cannot provides an important insight into his personality (and a contrast with Obama, among many other politicians). Someone says to him, “You can’t do that, you have no idea what you’re doing, the people in that field are going to eat you for lunch, etc.” - well, he looks at that as a challenge to his intelligence, his creativity and his willingness to work hard (like 18 hours a day hard, 7 days a week, for months on end). He is highly motivated to prove to those naysayers - and probably even more to himself, that those people are wrong. IOW, he takes it as a challenge to overcome. Obama and other egotists and narcissists, OTOH, take such a challenge to their abilities or power as an affront, and they then either destroy those people or do their damnedest to do so. He and they have such incredibly fragile egos that they cannot tolerate anyone doing anything but kissing the ground that they walk on.
