Remember when media outlets like BBC were casting shade on President Donald Trump for placing the blame for the out-of-control West Coast wildfires on forest mismanagement?
It looks like NBC News just admitted that the president may have been right about forest mismanagement. Yet, the outlet still tried to pin some of the blame on climate change.
NBC News published a story admitting that Decades of mismanagement led to choked forests now it's time to clear them out, fire experts say. NBC News immediately tried to throw the eco-spin on their own admission: as climate change continues to fuel dry conditions in the American West, many experts say its long past time to shift the focus back to managing healthy forests that can better withstand fire and add to a more sustainable future. But according to Forbes Magazine September 13, Californias leading forest scientists say that fire suppression and the accumulation of wood fuel, not climate change, are whats made Californias fires more intense. Climate change is responsible for everything, including including ingrown toenails.
They just can’t let go of their agenda.
I’m surprised they didn’t say “decades of mismanagement under President Donald Trump”.
Some of the recent fires in Oregone and Californicateyou land had not been burned nor cleared in 8 decades.
“Climate Change”
I blame it on smart phones and the Internet, because correlation is the same as thing as causation, right?
Or, turn it around: maybe increasing wildfires in California are the cause of these technological advances. There is a correlation there, after all. In that case, progress requires more burning.
But if climate change is the reason for the fires, why are there not fires outside Calf in the west, like in GA, NC, TN or Europe?
This is excellent, so POTUS can use this NBC data and viewpoint, when he is forced to discuss “climate change” during the debate on Thursday.
The Seny Fires of Northern Michigan burned 78,000 acres in 1976 due to lightning. It is a thriving forest now with proper management.
California, in my opinion, is far more effected by cyclical droughts (El Niño/La Niña) than modern global warming. I remember reading about a massive 1860s(?) SoCal wildfire that came close to wiping out the coastal areas in the south.
as climate change continues to fuel dry conditions in the American West,...”
It wasn’t called THE GREAT AMERICAN DESERT for nothing 175 years ago! Long before Glo-Bull Warming.
Thanks for posting this.
It’s not just underbrush. It is the lack of clear cutting that allowed the bark beatle to spread throughout the west. The amount of standing deadwood in our forests due to the bark beatle infestation is staggering.
CA won't allow the power companies to clear cut under their lines, so when high winds blow, the branches arc with the wires and sparks fly starting fires just like you did as a boy scout, using a flint and a piece of metal.
This is why, every year, the entire country says, "Oh, it's fire season in California".
Why just in California and the west coast states?
Piss poor {i.e. ZERO} forest management.
bkmk
Some of the following threads may refer to the same alleged arson case. This list is not intended to be complete.
Western Wildfires Are Due to Arson and Stupidity, Not Climate Change
Authorities arrest 4 in connection to possible arson, fires along West Coast
Man arrested, charged with arson in connection with southern Oregon fire
Send "Orange Man Bad" federal and state government desperate Democrats home in November!
Supporting PDJT with a new patriot Congress and state government leaders that will promise to fully support his already excellent work for MAGA and stopping SARS-CoV-2 will effectively give fast-working Trump a "third term" in office imo.
I dont see any problem with voting Republican ticket for 2020 elections.
Insights welcome.
Proper management is the answer.
You can’t do a thing about climate change. You CAN do things about mismanagement.
Colorado has had fires burning for months. We have never had fires burn for so long. Our new homosexual governor Polis (D) seems content to let the State burn.
I was in the Grand Lake and Estes park area 2 weeks ago.
People have no idea how many dead trees are in the forest areas in the west.
Lots of dry fuel
