You know what they do when a criminal in prison misbehaves and needs a little extra punishing?

Exactly what government officials across America have been doing to our elderly nursing home residents for over six months now – they deprive him of companionship with other human beings.

My Mother is 85 living by herself in PA. She has been in the hospital twice during the lockup. Not allowed to visit and then she was put in a nursing home to recover. Not allowed to visit there as well.

This lockup is causing mental issues like we have never seen before. Loneliness is killing her slowly.

I am so sorry to hear this. I cannot imagine having to go through this with my mom, who passed 3 years ago at the age of 87. It’s horrible.

My mother in law is 92, decent health for her age, lives alone but a caregiver comes 3 times a week. She is lonely as hell. Her children take turns visiting every couple of weeks, but it’s only enough to keep her from going off the deep end.

I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

And a great majority of these elderly have no interest or technical awareness to participate in Zoom or FaceTime calls. If they DO have cell phones, they’re flip-phones or Jitterbugs, not smartphones with apps.

...technical awareness...

My husband’s cousin is 84, independently living in an upscale retirement community. She paid a lot so that she will have assistance and medical care if things come to that. He is her last living relative that gives a damn. His brother is an ultra prog.

My husband calls about once a month. The cousin cannot set her answering machine and the residential rapid response person, whichever one is on duty, never seems capable of getting it to work, either, Cousin will not answer the phone (landline) unless she knows who it is. He sent her a print out sheet with his number, so she can check, but she may not be able to get to the phone fast enough and may not understand the CID function.

She will not use her Mac Air because she cannot remember the password. It probably needs a complete update.

So, once a month he calls and only once in a while will she answer.

She’s bored. The facility had their crafts teacher/coordinator quit for personal reasons and are not hiring a new one. No communal meals.

She has a condition that puts her at risk and she is naturally a shy, skittish type. But she loves the residence and is convinced they are *taking care of her*.

I think she doesn’t answer the phone because she has no life and nothing to contribute to a conversation. She used to chat about her craft classes, her exercise class, the people at dinner. Not any longer.

The community she bought into is gorgeous. It is also essentially a prison.

We are very blessed that my MIL is still somewhat tech savvy at age 92. We do FaceTime calls with her as well as landline calls. If someone is with her, we can do Zoom or Portal calls, but she doesn’t know how to initiate those.

With my Mom, it was only land line calls when she was by herself. She couldn’t make cell phones work for her once her dementia got hold of her, but she could manage the real telephone. We had to get one that had large buttons on it with our names (she couldn’t always remember our faces at a certain point.)

You are right, though, my MIL is an exception to the elderly handling smartphones. Most do not have them or know how to use them if they do have them.

I’ll be 70 on my next birthday. I have been alone many times (and loved it!), but I have never in my life been lonely. So, I can’t identify with loneliness, as I have no idea what it is like.

It would be much easier to live life normally and not pay any attention to this Chinese virus silliness. Treat it as a cold and it might kill you, treat it with effective drugs and it is in almost all cases nothing more than a mild cold or mild flu.

YOUTUBE Dr treats 1700 COVID patients with drugs, ALL survive

Although not stated in this interview, you can take zinc ionophores and zinc in a preventative dose to stop getting the Chinese flu. Quercetin available OTC is probably the best one next to HCQ.

HCQ combo drug dose is available over the internet by using an online Dr and an online pharmacy. Drugs will come to your mailbox. You probably want to do that BEFORE you start getting symptoms. You can get the preventative prescription before you have symptoms which with the online Dr I used was 10 weeks of HCQ which the Dr renewed for two more fills for a total of 30 weeks. I was traveling to a DimWIT state where the RAT governor has banned pharmacies from filling HCQ prescriptions unless you are seriously ill in the hospital. HCQ and Zn works to prevent virus replication, once you are seriously ill, it is about worthless, hence the DemWIT governor's order.

You can't have lock downs and unconstitutional orders without lots of deaths.
