New York Governor Andrew Cuomo defended himself against accusations that his policies forced patients testing positive for COVID-19 into nursing homes, saying “it never happened.”
Cuomo made the startling statement in an interview with Finger Lakes Daily News.
In fact, the Democrat governor, whose state has seen 32,757 deaths from the virus thus far, more than double the next closest state, insisted his state had “flattened the curve effectively.”
Regarding the nursing homes, Cuomo suggested his policies were not to blame.
“It just never happened in New York, where we needed to say to a nursing home, ‘We need you to take this person even though they’re COVID positive,'” he said. “It never happened.”

For those who may not know, Prince Andrew is the most fastidious micro-manager ever. NOTHING in New York State Government happens without the Prince’s OK. NOTHING! The reporting, the constant monitoring of EVERYTHING by “The Chamber” is crushing. Every action is meant to not so much “serve da people of Gnu Yak” but to boost the ego/id of The Almighty Prince Andrew Cuomo. This is a fact.

Cuomo conveniently forgets he left a paper trail of Covid patients he placed in nursing homes.....AND witnesses.
Legally Cuomo possibly did not say that the nursing homes were required to take back the coronavirus patients. But he did say that they had to take them directly from the hospital, IF they had a safe place for them to be separated from the rest of the nursing home. Cuomo is a master at weasel words which only works for Democrats because the media backs them up.
This was very early in the pandemic and ambulances were coming back to the nursing homes even late at night.The fact that Cuomo had the Naval Hospital ship and the Javits Center temporary hospital and the Samaritan’s purse hospital in Central Park makes his policies even more evil. Como never opened them for nursing home patients.

I guess that hospital ship that President Trump sent to NYC just disappeared and was never needed. The Dems just can’t stand the truth.
“The DOJ “requested COVID-19 data from the governors of states that issued orders which may have resulted in the deaths of thousands of elderly nursing home residents,” a statement read .
In it, they reference a March 25th executive order which forced nursing homes to take on patients that had tested positive for coronavirus and prohibited facilities from requiring incoming patients “to be tested for COVID-19 prior to admission or readmission.”
Cuomo refused to reverse that directive for several weeks while well over 6,600 senior citizens – perhaps many more as you can see below – fell victim to the virus.”
Seems clear to me.
I don't think Cuomo could make that call.
The ship was originally dispatched to take non-WuFlu patients requiring hospitalization on the assumption that NY hospitals would be hotbeds of infection.
Upstate still has residential care facilities with outbreaks, and residents dying, though from what is unclear.
Didn’t Trump have the military construct two “temporary” hospital in NY that non-Wuhanic Plague patients could have been moved to and they were never used?
That’s not the only think Cuomo did. He allowed confirmed positive employees to report to work until the middle of May.
But something nobody’s asking: Why did residential care facilities take them back?
Fedzilla has relaxed both Medicare and Medicaid rules in the middle if March so facilities could refuse if necessary.
Why did the vast majority of the facilities take them back?
My suspicion is that Albany threatened the facilities with cuts in Medicaid payments, bad inspections, regulatory threats to get them to comply.
There’s a reason Albany protected these facilities from both criminal and civil liability in a provision snuck into the state’s budget.
However, some absentee ballots and VBM ballots originating in China may have become contaminated
.....w/ Covid or other deadly Chinese diseases.
Cuomo ought to look into that......cackle.
