YouTube is Unwatchable
The Obadiah Times | 10/2/2020 | Obadiah

YouTube has now become completely unwatchable. Every video is saturated with Obama telling us someone is going to steal their power and someone is going to steal their Democracy. Every single video, at least one or two times per video.

YouTube is unwatchable?

I beg to differ. YouTube is a tremendous resource with billions of videos having nothing to do whatsoever with Obama.

For example, I've spent a lot of hours exploring Bach's works through the Netherlands Bach Society channel. Superb content with crystal clear video and flawless sound. I recently watched an excellent documentary on Air Force One (featuring mostly Trump). I often bring up old movies and TV shows. I can find practically every song ever recorded as well as live versions and cover versions.

In short, YouTube is a treasure and a historical archive beyond description. It's all in how you use it and what channels you subscribe to.

I've had my cable cut for years because there is an inexhaustible supply of content on YouTube.

LOL. Just can’t watch that guy any more because of that. Talks for 11 minutes, get’s to his personal opinion, and goes back into the trunk of his car.

Yeah, I agree, it is a phenomenal resource. I've learned some pointers from some great FReepers about how I'll watch content going forward. After 20 years of DirecTV I cut the cable 90 days ago. After minor adjustment, I cannot imagine going back - ever. So I'm using other resources more and learning new tricks.

If you are a classical music fan, definitely check out the Netherlands Bach Society.

Here's just an example

My daughter gave me access to their ad free youtube account, I no longer have to watch their ads... such a relief.

Absolutely.

Whenever I have a home project, even if I know what I'm doing, I find youtube has a tutorial video which gives me new ways and new insights on how to do the job. There are many people who produce great content on any number of subjects.

Last week I stumbled on a man who refurbishes old rusted objects (like 18th century locks). Some objects look beyond saving but he makes them brand new again. His videos are hypnotically beautiful. He does stunning work.

If you're stuck in an Obama-loop it's because you're not clearing your browser history.

My wife jokes that it takes me longer to learn about doing something on YouTube than doing the task itself!

Which is true but the end result is I do a better job with the right tools and materials.

Now I'm moving into the cooking arena. I'm becoming a pro with the cast iron cookware!

I am a Wanda Landowska fan. Only plays Bach on her harpsichord.

Tube lets me watch a few at a time. Some won’t load after that. Seems they want me to subscribe. I have AdBlocker. You think that’s why they do that to me?
Anyone? I will not subscribe.

The stuff I’ve chosen to watch is devoid of any Obama shit. Last night I saw a complete Rod Stewart concert with no commercials. the other night I saw American people in a city in Idaho take charge to insure there’d be no violence from a BLM gathering.

Get the Brave browser.
I’ve seen exactly two YouTube ads in the year that I’ve used it.
Refreshing the page gets rid of it.

I love using YouTube to find concerts as well. Once you get prior to the mid 1980s, they are a bit harder to find as video recording technology was a lot more expensive (and rare) in those days.

I would love to see say a Beatles concert or a vintage 1960s era Stones or Dylan show that's not in grainy black and white.

But once you get to the 1990s, there's more concert footage on YouTube of major recording artists than you can watch in a lifetime.

As much as I hate the censorious left wing pukes running YouTube/Google I see the money spent on Premium as money very well spent, as 95 percent of what I watch is on You Tube.

I’ve been flirting with it myself. It seems YT is constantly adding the number of ads to videos, it’s like every 2 minutes now.
