Civilization is like a thin layer of ice upon a deep ocean of chaos and darkness.- Warner Herzog
This is my summary of the debate:
Biden:
Liar! Racist! cmon man! Clown! Shut up man!
Court packing? Ill pass Chris
Hunter? Let me tell you about my dead son Beau.
Police defunding? Ill pass Chris.
Chris? Chris? A little help here?
Trump:
Wallace:
Allow me to state my liberal position in the form of a question.
So you will not accept the result of the fake ballot count Mr. President?
Media:
Trump refused to condemn White Supremacists. Again.
No winner declared, but everybody, including the moderator, gets a participation trophy.
A thin layer of ice would be nice.

The biggest loser of last night? Hillary. Joe did just good enough to stay in the game, taking away Hillary’s chances of grabbing the nomination.
You win the post debate post contest.
: ) GREAT! Thanks.
The consensus pretty much across the political spectrum seems to be both did terrible. I tend to think that helps Trump more than Biden, but I think Trump missed an opportunity to win over some fence sitters.
We now know Biden never even bothered to pick up the phone to help with riots all summer that seemed huge to me with Democrat cities burning.
I agree with you. Trump missed some really important opportunities. IF there is another debate, Trump needs some make-up. He wasn’t orange man last night. He was red man with a scowling face.
I understand Trump is angry, but his base is with him no matter what. He should at least get rid of that scowl, crack a smile every now and then and have some fun. Letting Joe complete a sentence so that he’ll trip over his tongue and tell more lies would be a good strategy.
I’m afraid he lost more fence sitting women with his behavior and he really needs them. I can’t imagine who will be chosen as the next moderator since Wallace was supposed to be so “fair” and was anything but! He was AWFUL. They should have NEVER agreed to a debate without getting 2 to 3 minutes for opening statements. Trump could have listed all of his accomplishments and gone into detail about Joe and Hunter Biden’s selling out our country. I’ve never seen a debate where opening statements weren’t allowed and that was a HUGE mistake.
I think the good news is that Biden didn't win them either. On my Facebook feed (admittedly not a scientific sampling), I counted no less than three friends who don't know each other but had the same reaction and are all three suburban mothers, age 35-45, politically disengaged and not Trump fans but mostly centrist-to-right-leaning (skeptical of lockdowns and masks, no BLM virtue-signaling), and live in a major battleground state. They all basically wrote: "That's it, I'm running for President myself." Basically, they're either up for grabs or staying home. Or they are among what I believe are many voters who are dissatisfied with both candidates but who will vote for Trump while bad-mouthing him to their friends because they don't want Covid-Nazis and BLM terrorists running their government.
Trump needs to pound on that.
Honestly, one of Trump’s bigger mistakes last night was in line with one of the bigger mistakes of his Presidency: Going soft on crime to pander to the “black vote.” He went after Biden for the 1994 crime bill which, when he should have praised Biden for it and taken him to task for backing off of it. Other than the fact that it included the assault weapons ban and VAWA, the crime bill was one of the last good pieces of bipartisan legislation ever passed.
That’s good news - thanks for posting.
Since the debate Nazi rule makers plan on changing things for the next debate (if there is one), I hope Trump’s team will insist on a non-negotiable that each candidate will have 90 seconds to 2 minutes of opening statements.
Trump can list his successes and bring up the Biden corruption again, but more importantly Joe would have a VERY hard time talking uninterrupted for that long!
