Only Jesus Saves! However what I believe about Genesis 12:3 stands true no matter what others say.

I’ve studied Matthew 16:28 and Luke 9:27.

How many people saw Jesus in His Holy Splendor during their lifetimes before dying?

Million $ Question and you brought it up. Answer it.

“How many people saw Jesus in His Holy Splendor during their lifetimes before dying?”

I can’t see a million dollar question.

Specifically, Peter, James, and John at the transfiguration.
No one else. Judas had to identify Jesus to the Romans because he was without splendor, as was prophesied.

Those two verses, exclusively, have to do with Jesus coming in His Kingdom, in judgment, not his splendor. The context is about his coming. I never even mentioned the verse where Jesus said his coming would take place during “this” generation.

I wondered how you would address it: figuratively, symbolically, or spiritually. I knew it would not be literally because it just doesn’t fit your illusions, but you choose to believe your pet verses literally.

Matt 16:28 28 [a]Amen, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”

Luke 9:27 Truly I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God.”

Read Daniel 7 that this refers to 13 As the visions during the night continued, I saw coming with the clouds of heaven One like a son of man.[h] When he reached the Ancient of Days and was presented before him,

To which direction is the Son of Man traveling? Towards Jerusalem or towards the Mount of Olives?

NEITHER -- The Son of man is coming "TO the Ancient of Days" i.e. TO the Father

This is linked by Jesus to Psalm 110:1 "The Lord says to my Lord: 'Sit at my right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool' -

Here is what Our Lord Jesus said at His trial "I tell you hereafter you will see the Son of man seated at the right hand of Power and coming on the Clouds of Heaven (Matt 26:64)

Jesus told the men judging Him that they would see the coming foretold by Daniel -- this is clear that Jesus does not mean something to happen 2000 years later!

Jesus's message was clear to the Sanhedrin -- WHY is the Son of Man coming? To JUDGE

Christ received His Kingdom at His ascension.

Did the Sanhedrin see that? There was only ONE event that occurred during the generation of the Sanhedrin that would show them that Christ was their Judge

What was this ONE event that occurred during the generation of the Sanhedrin that judged Christ? -- the destruction of the temple in 70 AD as instigated by the little horn, Nero

Jesus said that Daniel's Son of Man would come in judgement during the generation of THAT Sanhedrin. This leaves us ONLY with one option - that the prophecy was fulfilled and in 70 AD

Jesus predicted the destruction in Luke 19:42-44

As long as the Temple remained, people saw Christianity as merely a sect within 2nd temple judaism. If the sacrifice of Jesus had superseded the Old Covenant ceremonies, people would naturally wonder why animal sacrifices continued in Jerusalem. With the destruction of the 2nd tmeple, you have the New Covenant.

Note that in Matthew 16:28 he says to those present LISTENING TO HIM "For the Son of man is to come with His angels in the glory of His Father, and then He will repay every man for what he has done. Truly I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death before they see the Son of man coming in His Kingdom -- Note that "he will repay" - this is the judgement of the Sanhedrin
