Hard to believe how much the senate has fallen since RBG’s appointment when she got 99 votes and the one who didn’t vote was at a funeral. Unbelievable!
Darth Bader Ginsburg got 96 votes. The 3 nays (Bob Smith, Jesse Helps, and Don Nickels) all opposed her on ideological grounds. The rest of the GOP claimed a man-hating feminazi lawyer for the ACLU was somehow “moderate”
“Fallen”? That kind of display by GOP Senators was disgusting. But in their defense, it didn’t matter, she was gonna get confirmed.
Same reason so many voted for Shillery to be SOS when she went on to be one of the worst ones (to the point that John Kerry was an improvement).
