Nashville recently passed a 34% property tax increase to “make up for covid-19 losses”. For home owners, this is bad. A home currently paying $6000 in income taxes will now have and additional $2000 a year added on, or about $175 a month. For commercial real estate, it is a disaster with property taxes for a typical restaurant going form $60,000 a year to $80,000.
Instead of Nashville government sharing the pain from covid, they did not lay off a single Metro employee. Instead they have decided that the way to fight covid is to keep ALL Metro employees working 20 hours a week, BUT drawing a FULL paycheck and benefits (including paid vacations).
BTW, Metro government employees are putting their 20 hours in by half of the employees working 8-12 and the other half working 12:30-4:30. If you can get the work done with HALF the staff, your staff is over twice as big as it needs to be.
Yea, Mayor Cooper is really sharing the pain.
Lee has been an abysmal failure in leadership during this mess.
Just imagine how many other liberal cities are hiding the numbers like Nashville is. These people got caught red handed but you know it goes on everywhere.
Nashville is getting the kind of government they voted for.
They brought this dishonesty and tax abuse on themselves.
I think it will be revolution. But it will be short It will be the left against everybody else.
Everybody else is:
1. the right (People like Kyle).
2. Police.
3. The military.
4. The center - though they will be the useful idiots for both sides to one degree or another.
The revolution will be short because the instigators really have zero stomach for any of it affecting them negatively.
"NashvilleHealth creates a culture of health and wellbeing by serving as a convener to open dialogue..."
It appears the Nashville Health officials are not onboard with the 'open dialogue' part. They practice deception and deceit. Frist should be leading the charge against this corruption. Where is he?
$23.5 million in relief for small and micro businesses. $10 million for arts organizations.

Strange priorities when performers and painters get nearly half of what the producers, innovators and job creators get. Just saying.
This is another reason why I’ve not been trusting the published data for a while.
There’s nothing particularly special or different about the USA, in terms of people density, climate, transport, social activity, that would be a basis for the virus to manifest differently than anywhere else. Except the data suggests otherwise. So either there’s something about the USA that is causing higher levels of contraction than elsewhere or the data is bad.
We can look at data across several countries that have experienced significant deaths; Italy, Spain, UK, etc.. While they’ve seen a significant uptick in new cases recently, probably due to more testing, the death rate has plummeted and remains very low. Sweden is even better and they never did the complete lock down as we, and others, have. They seem to have reached a herd immunity, single digit deaths per day.
There’s a lot of people involved in reporting data in the USA - how many are playing games? Our constitutional rights are being played around with because of dishonest data being published.

Sweden considers COVID to be over, yet we’re supposed to believe we’re consistently moving along at over 1000+ deaths per day. I continue to ask anyone if they know somebody that died from it or has even had it. The answer is almost none! Show me the emergency! This is now criminal.
The problem is that only about 20% of registered voters vote in local elections. The sad thing is that people are only now realizing how important that is.
BTW, metro council just approved a measure that would nullify any attempts to repeal the 34% property tax increase through referendum. Basically they are telling the people that they don’t give a tinker’s damn what they want.

I don't know about that. Most of the country is passive and silent, and quite frankly fearful. If things were to start getting tense the Uniparty will join forces to tamp down the rebellion with the usual palaver and promises to placate the gullible and easily led masses. And anyone who wants to put an end to the Leftist nonsense will be immediately labeled a racist, if not charged as one.
If we had a real political party that actually stood up for us there might be a chance to right the ship but we don't have that in any way, shape or form. The GOP is just as deceptive as the Dems are.
Now if Trump starts a new party that could be a game changer that would give us a fighting chance to turn things around. Just my 2 cents.
Thanks for the reply.
Yes I realize voter turnout is low. People need to understand that not voting is effectively the same thing as voting to accept the status quo, or worse. I think the Founding Fathers would be saddened by the amount of self-destructive apathy there is in this country. They gave us a framework for good government and we ignored it.
The nullification of any attempts to repeal the 34% tax should absolutely shock voters. This is tyrannical stuff. But I doubt we’ll hear much more than some grumbling about it.
I should have been more clear. I think it will be revolution, but it will be extremely short. I’m talking days. They (the left) simply don’t have the stomach for it if anyone pushes back.
The only thing empowering them right now is that they are like the “bad kid” that his parents never punish. So they do what they want.
But if trump wins and they ramp this stuff up. I think it will be quelled in very, VERY short order. The gloves will be off, and it will be necessary for the survival of the country.

I think you’re making a good point. A lot of people may be willing to ‘let it slide’ until they see the outcome of the election. Assuming a Trump win, the Left will unquestionably ramp up the violence thereby forcing people to recognize the very real threat to civilized society itself. At that point it should be ‘game on’ if we want to ensure the future viability of this republic.
That said, I just don’t know how many people realize the existential nature of the threat that lies before them. Its very hard to mobilize people who are comfortable and distracted by the daily challenges of life. Just saying.
Part of what shapes my opinion on this:
Back in February I was thinking about this being an election year and I said to my wife: “Do you notice that BLM has gone away. They have not been in the news for months if not well over a year. Do you think they’ll ramp it up for the election?”
And here we are. :)
That’s why I like your posts. Your comments reflect thought.
FReegards. :)
Indeed...SCAMdemic.
Lee is a coward hiding behind the mandates of corrupt county mayors...one term, then done. I can't wait to primary this SOB...he claims to be a 'christian'...'a strong believer in liberties'. He is NEITHER.
