A star studded cast. Jason Mamot of GoT as Duncan Idaho. Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck.
But they turned Liet-Kynes into a black chick.
Whaddya gonna do. The spice must flow.

Another attempt to turn a good novel into a moneymaker. I can tell from the trailer it’s going to be another dud.

Herbert's Dune became an icon for tree-hugging eco-freaks who focused solely on the the environmental aspects of the work. Thus completely overlooking Herbert's speculation regarding the destiny of the human species. Dune and its successors served as a cautionary tale written large across time and space and the human psyche and with at times a very dark cast.

The movie I’d pay to see has the “Dune” sandworms in a cage match against the “Beetlejuice” sandworms.

I am a huge fan of the original Dune and after watching that trailer, I doubt I will watch the remake.

The SCI FI channel versions I think will remain the gold standard though the matte paintings and set looked chintzy in the first Dune series.(the acting was good and the story adaptations compelling with a very effectively over the top Baron Harkonnen) The network’s second dune series...”Children of Dune” looked much better and had very good actors. The whole look of Children and the cinematography was better in the second series. Aillyah’s descent into abomination was very well played and James McAvoy’s portrayal of Leto displayed acting talent years beyond his reported age of 18 when he played the role.

The scope of this book is such that it will never be made into a good movie-length film. Miniseries maybe...
But thats been tried, too.

They didn’t make Paul Atreides a gay transvestite? It would have been easy.
No one has ever come close to Dino de Laurentis’ original (published under his daughter’s name).

Female Liet... Crusade instead of Jihad... I shudder to think what other woke nonsense is being hidden behind the over-the-top cgi...
At least the actors for Paul and Chani actually look like they are in their mid-teens like they are supposed to.
