On August 27, 2019, President Donald Trump held a 41.3 percent approval rating and a 54.2 percent disapproval rating, according to FiveThirtyEights poll tracker. During the 365 days that followed, Trump became the third president impeached by the House of Representatives; America assassinated Iranian general Qassem Soleimani; more than 200,000 Americans died from the disease caused by the novel coronavirus; the unemployment rate rose from 3.7 percent to 10.2 percent; the US banned incoming travel from Europe, China, and Brazil; an estimated 12 million people lost health insurance coverage; Trump pardoned Roger Stone, who was facing jail time for dirty tricks on the presidents behalf; and George Floyds murder sparked a nationwide movement protesting for racial justice to which officials responded by tear-gassing demonstrators in Lafayette Park in Washington, DC, so Trump could pose for a photograph holding a Bible.
That is, of course, a bitterly incomplete list of a grimly consequential year in American history. But youd never know it simply by following Trumps poll numbers. On August 27, 2020 one year later, and the day Trump used the White House as a backdrop for his convention speech FiveThirtyEight had Trump at 42.2 percent approval and 54.3 percent disapproval. Everything had happened, and politically, nothing had mattered. Or, at the least, not much had changed.
Its really remarkable, says Jennifer Victor, a political scientist at George Mason University. The stability of Trumps numbers are almost unbelievable.

SUMMARY: “Why can’t everyone agree with me?”
Vox is a far-far-left website.
Four years of constant attacks against President Trump
have only stiffened my resolve to see him serve another
term.
Drain the swamp!
President Trump’s deploreables are the stable Americans not the insane left wingers of America.
So sticks/stones, fake news, B$ and lies have zero impact on us.
We ignore the B$/lies/fake new or label it as such and move on.
Ezra Kline is a despicable human being.
When the media openly abandoned objectivity, the people openly abandoned listening to them. Why does this surprise anyone?
Next question, please.
“...more than 200,000 Americans died from the disease caused by the novel coronavirus...”
Even everyone’s favorite fearper isn’t claiming that, yet.
If they’re planning on stealing the election anyhow, I wonder why they worry about what the public thinks.
Very, very simple.
The Godless hate Trump.
The Godly love Trump.
Simple.
Good old Ezra is still around. He never quite made it in life. Must be a bitter person.
No. One way or another, everyone has a opinion about President Trump. My personal opinion is that both him and his wife are National Treasures.
The opinion of the traitors, parasites, American haters, liars, scum, the main stream media, worshipers of Satan. Is somewhat different.
Why sure...
He could raise taxes back to where they were.
He could reinstate a metric shitload of regulations and strangle the second major recovery in three years in its cradle.
He could order demolition of the wall.
He could promise to name Hellary to the next SCOTUS vacancy.
He could restore China to Most Favored Nation trade status
He could rejoin the US to a couple of tits-on-a-bull UN agencies.
He could find our troops another pointless “war” to pretend to fight for another 20 years.
*****
Not saying any or all of that would make me vote for Grandpa Badfinger; but it sure would dampen my enthusiasm for reelecting #45.
It’s Vox, the far left commie queer rag. Garbage is to be expected.
Those boat and truck parades say liberals are showing their mental illness thinking their violence and hatred for America will change our minds! FU liberals!
...more than 200,000 Americans died from the disease caused by the novel coronavirus...
and that is a crystal clear example of bull scat of the first order...
scandal of the century; sick, elderly people have died...!
Yes trying to figure out why OP is even checking on Vox. Salon, Vox, Huffington Post really they shouldn’t be posted on this this website. They’re just a bunch of kooky left wing opinion pieces what’s the purpose of posting them here? They’re not news related.
Best year in money I’ve ever had Ezra.
Of course I have common sense. Read a book.
Thomas Paine has a good one.
