I am, but more into silver cannot afford Gold except the 1 gram gold bar.
My Walmart in TX has chest freezers. They are only 7 cubic feet, though. Cost about $200.
I have a pretty decent amount of titles (over 4000 at last count) stored away on Prepping, Home Defense, Survival Gardening, etc. I used to share it with anyone who wanted access but those days are gone. If any members of the Prepper pinglist would like access send me a PM. I’ll check your posting history and if it looks like you’ve been active I’ll send you a code for access.
Now, this past week, I thought I looked at an XDS online - I thought it said $392,
Great little pistols. We each have one in .45.

If I licked you, well....

Exactly.
Also, many older luxury vehicles dont cost very much. I just sold my 2012 Mercedes SUV. $80k new. $11k blue book value. Got all $11k for it. Add a few years, a few more miles and you can get one even cheaper. Having a luxury brand vehicle does not mean youre well off.
Anyone else think the author bought a lot of stock in companies that provide emergency food that stays good for 25 years?
During Obama’s first term, we stocked up - took a loooong time to regain closet space as much of the food suitable for long-term emergencies ain’t as tasty as regular fare.
In order to cover everything with hay, I’ve got to have hay.
I’d have to grow it and cut it.
Without gas/diesel, I’d be out there cutting with a scythe. Then I’d have to rake up and gather by hand also. That’d be MORE work to reduce my workload.
I’m not sure it would be a net win in the long run.
Farmers have dug the Earth and sowed seed by hand for millennia. I would probably do the same.
We have a superabundance of white tails and turkey and trout around here. Good eatin’.
The current price of grain and futures prices of grains going forward a year don't show that at all.
The prices reflect a large, almost oversupply for the coming year.
These feedstuffs are converted to meats and other eatable commodities.
US farmers.
Most of the rest of the world food supply is limited by their government they are living under, China being a large example.
Their food shortages are not our problem.
We will continue to grow so much food that we have to export large percentages of most crops we grow here.
The export market is critical to the continued strength of the food commodity market in the US.
Even a cursory glance at our food supply immediately shows we are flooded with foods with no end in sight.
Kamala Harris is promising the rioting will never stop - “It’s a movement”. And she’s happy and enthusiastic about it.

We stocked up 10 years ago. Food plus three blue 65 gallon containers of water which we change out once a year.
“If things get THAT bad, we could always just eat the Democrats...”
They are crunchy and good with ketchup! Leaves a bad taste in your mouth, though. ;)
Use mustard particularly the spicy kind covers the Rat taste better.
“Having said that I havent seen any evidence we are about to face end times starvation. My stores seem to be stocked like normal. Grateful for that.”
I’m in your camp. Walmart has some shortages, but it is MUCH better than it’s been in the past 6 months. They are doing a HUGE business with their drive-up feature; there are always clerks scurrying around filling carts with orders.
My local grocer (SureFine) Piggly Wiggly (!) never did run out of a thing, but they did place limits on the number of things you could buy at a time and they have an awesome house brand of canned goods for stocking up that is as good as anything I’ve seen and great seasonal in-store specials. Good meat section with REAL butchers.
I have a huge garden, so I can and freeze and we hunt and fish. If it looks like times are going to be really tough, we can always raise our own meat animals and barter for stuff from my neighbor who has chickens and the dairy that rents land from us for crops.
I feel confident we can weather what comes our way. :)
The fear is when it comes, it will come quickly as panic sets in and people start hoarding.
