As COVID-19 was ravaging nursing home populations, which saw over half of the states pandemic deaths, the Illinois Department of Public Health chose for 3 1/2 months not to investigate 272 complaints of abuse and neglect.
IDPH failed to investigate complaints between March 15 and June 30 despite laws requiring it to do so, the department admitted in a press release issued Aug. 21. The acknowledgement comes a month after IDPH fired Debra Bryars, an agency deputy director who ran the Office of Health Care Regulation.
The agency had also placed Aimee Isham, who oversaw the Bureau of Long-Term Care, on indefinite paid leave. Isham resigned Aug. 24 following the agencys admission.
IDPH stated an independent investigation is being conducted by a former federal prosecutor and by Manatt Health Strategies to review the Bureau of Long-Term Cares complaint process.
Working with independent experts, we are simultaneously conducting a full and thorough review of our previous work and revamping our Bureau of Long-Term Care to better serve the people of Illinois, said IDPH Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike in the agencys press release.
The lapse in complaint investigations was discovered in early July by top IDPH administrators. Although the federal government had suspended some deadlines for investigating complaints in order to focus on infection control, state deadlines were not suspended and the agency was still required by law to meet those deadlines....

In some cases, these inspections may not have been truly essential compared to the risk involved, but in other cases....
Well, I imagine a lot people in a lot of places might have gotten away, and still be getting away, with bad behavior because no one is checking.
(Of course, states are checking very closely to see if masks are being worn by waiters and patrons waiting to be seated at restaurants. This is so much more important than worrying about abuse at nursing homes./s)
My mother in law died in an Illinois nursing home in April.
Still no funeral.
FU, Governor Creosote.

Criminal negligence! But for Demonicrats that’s a resume enhancer.
My mother in law died in an IL nursing home during April as well... at Miller Rehab in Kankakee. In what city was your MiL?
This is indeed a civil rights issue
Bloomingdale. DuPage County.

My sincere condolences. We finally had my MiLs memorial service at the church and an Irish sendoff at her gravesite in Manteno Aug. 15.
My condolences on your loss.

If Trump wins in November,he should unleash the federal Marshals to round up these Rat culprits.
This was going on before the pandemic, every legally required state function is wildly underfunded because 25% of taxes go to very, very nice gold plate pensions.
There is some irony to this in that the majority of the people in those places voted D for those pensions.
Just asking: Any biologists/chemists/scientists out there who know the effects of prolonged mask wearing on the Krebs Cycle?

President Trump will need to find a new Attorney General who is willing (and eager) to get indictments against these traitorous Demonicrats.

That is a pretty area. Ive been there and had a coworker who lived there.
Keep voting Democrat.
These democrat governors and their administrations have committed the largest mass murder in United States history and they are going to get away with it.
The votes of old dead people are more valuable than the lives of old sick people. But then, perhaps, I’m a bit pessimistic.
So they do it and now it’s too late to do anything about it so oh well.
They DO. NOT. CARE. about the lies they sacrificed pushing their agenda and trying to destroy Trump.
Not forever.
They too, are going to die some day and then they'll have to stand before God and explain why they deliberately killed all those old people and destroyed everyone else's lives to boot.
That's not to say that I wouldn't like to see justice down NOW. I would love it. Nothing would make me happier.
But I fear we have to wait for that accounting as the god of this world, Satan himself, is going to protect his best pawns from the consequences of their actions as long as he can.
Not because he cares about them, but because they are too useful to him.
