Everyone has a love/hate relationship with New York City. It has some of the worst qualities, but it's unlike ANY city elsewhere in the world. But now, the city that never sleeps may be gone forever. In a recent LinkedIn op-ed, New Yorker James Altucher wrote why he believes "New York City is Dead Forever." And Glenn agrees: not only is the city completely boarded up due to ongoing violence, but New Yorkers are leaving in a mass exodus. And they're not coming back. This time, New York may not be "bouncing back" like it's done so many times before.

True. Even looking at LAX or SFO from the early 60s you saw a habitable city.
What would tourist come to see?
You can’t go into any buildings of interest: MOMA, Guggenheim, Whitney museums are closed.
Building are closed as is Statue of Liberty.
Restaurant’s are closed for the most part. I mean, who the hell wants to eat outside in Manhattan during the summer heat/humidity and it will be worse this winter.
No Broadway, Off Broadway, Radio City Music Hall, Opera, That awesome arcade in Times Square.
Ain’t nothing to do for a 1st time visitor.
Same thing in San Francisco.
Ghost Town. Nothing is open and there would ordinarily be plenty to see or do.
Hell, if you go anywhere without a Hijab covering you can be fined anywhere from $100 to $1000 and businesses not enforcing the burka lite mandates can be fined $5,000.
My little coffee shop, in a little town was just with 3 violations and looking at $7,500 in fines. They were complying with ADA and now are forced to not let anyone on the grounds or in their shop without a mask.
That happened because a few people who need validate their lives at someone else’s expense narc’d on them and the news story probably gave their pathetic, done nothing fun life some relevancy.
In Pacific Grove and Carmel this past weekend they were passing out tickets for masks, lawn chairs, sitting on a bench, sitting on the beach, entering the ocean, etc.
Didn’t take long for man to summons the strength needed to trash his integrity by giving a summons to another man....
Port of NY/NJ (two states) is 3rd on the list, according to Wikipedia, with the port of S. Louisiana shipping about 3 times the tonnage of NY/NJ. After hearing about the hard times NYC has fallen on, I'm afraid tonnage fall even lower?

It’s all about the green stuff (money).
and traffic, crime, lines, crowds, cost of living, unpleasantness, enui, angst, hearing people complain there is no zabars, whining about cell phone reception, hearing about how things were done ‘back home’, etc.
Indeed it is. I like to view the colorized B&W movies of NY city life on Youtube, at the start of the 20th century.
Thanks!
LOL! BTW what is her immigration status???
Every city should carved up into self governed areas like suburbs.
Zsa Zsa or Eva? I could never tell the difference. Lol
Yeah but the abandonment rats screw up so many places where they move. In north Alabama we have all kinds of out of state carbtags. They will bring their liberal Karen ways with them. We will conver many but not enough. Watch Madison county AL as a canary in the coal mine.
I think zsa zsa but I’m not sure. Johnny Carson would know for certain.
Five times the govtard fun.
Providing split services for all those areas would be a true nightmare.
I absolutely hate the media in this country, this should be headlines news every night THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS TO A CITY WHEN DEMOCRATS RUN IT!
........................................
I wonder what percentage of those leaving have been diehard Democrat voters.
I was in NYC last week...drove to Connecticut and took Metro North from there. The parking lot at the station (Greenwich) was almost empty...ditto the train...ditto Grand Central. A ghost town.
Amazing...and spooky!
I dont know, but lets just hope these NY leftists dont move into red states and start turning them blue.
................................................
Are you kidding? That’s exactly what they will do, just as they have been doing for generations! Historically, that has been the primary catalyst for transforming the political culture for decades!
Grand Central looks like Sunday morning pretty much every day.
Why the people of NYC haven't marched to Deblasio's house with torches still amazes me.
Oh really, lol.
