If it becomes common for those who once took the LIRR,NJT or Metro North into Manhattan now work from home on their laptop the city *is* dead.
I was in NYC last week...drove to Connecticut and took Metro North from there.The parking lot at the station (Greenwich) was almost empty...ditto the train...ditto Grand Central. A ghost town.
Amazing...and spooky!

I've been taking Metro North from Westport into Manhattan and it is eerie. I always get a row of seats to myself and sometimes I'm one of the only ones in the entire car. It's been like that since mid-March.
Grand Central looks like Sunday morning pretty much every day.
Why the people of NYC haven't marched to Deblasio's house with torches still amazes me.
