Reports are emerging describing a potential near miss with an unmanned aircraft system (UAS) while the C-32A that President Trump was flying on was making its final approach into Andrews Air Force base on Sunday evening. POTUS was returning from Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster New Jersey when the reported near miss took place.
AFP's Sebastian Smith reported on the incident shortly after disembarking the highly modified 757-200, stating:
"@realDonaldTrump just landed at Andrews on AF1. Shortly before, while descending, we flew right over a small object, remarkably close to the president’s plane. Resembled a drone though I’m no expert."

One day when I lived in P.G. county near Andrew’s, I as driving by Andrews.

I would assume that AF1 Would have the ability to jam any frequency it wants.
Although an autonomous or heat seeking drone would be a little more difficult to defeat.

Loosing and engine on approach isn’t that difficult to deal with. The problem is there is probably more to this than just a drone. Who every was flying it know where they were and what they were up to.
It was a just Chinese computer chip that failed and stopped responding to the controller.
It was just a lone wolf who had no chance of bring down Air Force One.
It was just a synchronized droning group who practiced for the Super Bowl too close to the flight path.
It was a peaceful protest innovator who took it to the 3rd dimension.

Not quite sure how they’d do that. About the only way is to change the times he is on final or switch to other landing areas like reopening Bolling/Anacostia with a little work to prepare. They would have to extend the runways to over 11,000 feet but shouldn’t be too much to get it on online again. Whenever the president goes to an airport now, all traffic is cleared away for him. The art of misdirection.

Hey I am offended. I live in Prince George’s County and right next to the base. It was more likely Homeland Security (Federal Protection Force) since their Headquarters is along the Southern approach to the runways at the old NAVY FLEETLAC Base and they have been known to use drones in the past.
Come on Guys, it might have been 20 years since I last wore a uniform, but I can assure you that no damn Drone is get close to any Plane with the call sign Air Force One! I have lived along the flight lines for 40 years and believe all the stuff I see go up before and after Air Force One will(well let’s just say Triple Secret Probation). As far your information on those Glideslopes and Paths is kinda dated (hint hint). I will finally say this about where my house is located now anything bigger than a 737 the wheels are still trying when they fly over and the annual Air Shows are great, if it wasn’t for the Oak Trees, I won’t have to sit on my roof each May 15th.

The runways were removed at Bolling and buildings now occupy that space, but there is a heliport there.
Melania Trump flew on an Osprey from there in December of 2018.

I'm certain they were but highly unlikely they were aware they would be in the flight path of incoming Boeing jet. Final flight path could be almost any distance away from the airport.......
