New data from the Center for Disease Control indicates that more than 25% of young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 experienced suicidal thoughts in the month of June, an elevated statistic likely a result of the coronavirus epidemic.
11% of the Americans in that age category thought seriously about suicide, a large contingent of the demographic.
Symptoms of anxiety disorder and depressive disorder increased considerably in the United States during AprilJune of 2020, compared with the same period in 2019, the CDC reported on Thursday.
The data indicates that a massive 47% of Americans ages 18 to 29 experienced symptoms of anxiety or depression during the months of April and May. Rolling surveys indicate that rate is increasing, having crossed more than 50% in June.

Media: “Hey, think about this.”
Kids: “Okay.”
IDK.;
Looking for something pretty much means you’ll find it.
Rats want depressed, angry, unemployed people. Easy to stir up and smash capitalism and America that way.
They said calls to suicide prevention lines sky rocketed.
Its tough on many people .
To deny it is foolish . And for it to happen in the middle of this election is unreal.
If one looks back in history of war suicide was a very rare occurrence. It seems to be a luxury of today of not war and stress and violence and danger. I find this odd.
When man and woman is stressed by war and death he nor she does not commit suicide. They have naught to lose thus they fight. If they win they live. If they lose they die thus they must fight. They do not commit suicide.
I think the problem right now is that many young people do not realize who their enemy is, or if they do, how to fight against them.
They are also not being led by elders against this enemy, elders who can inspire them.
There are no platoon sergeants, Pattons, or grandmotherly Rosie-the-Riveter types working beside them in a bomb factory.
Mental illness is most often caused by addictions or mental frailty, not hardships. Healthy people cope with hardships and overcome them. It’s the conservative way.
Well put.
People do the best they think they can.
” It is taking a severe psychological toll on some of my close family members. “
Hard to believe, but if you’ll say so about your family...
Certainly getting old with all of us.
I just got notified of one tonight. He deployed with me to the mid-east. His platoon sergeant called me, one whom I had trained. He was a Fed Officer, deployed to Portland for the last several weeks. There have been too many, and I have no words for this one. If you have the answer, feel free, but if you are talking from outside, STFU.
I meet Rosy the Riveter every week, at the checkout stand at the supermarket.
Yes we can.
I saw platoon sergeants protecting the federal courthouse in Portland.
Follow me.
As for Patton. We have an indefatigable but flawed leader. He re-oriented an entire army from east to north, during the Battle of the Virus.
Almighty and most merciful Father, we humbly beseech Thee, of Thy great goodness, to restrain these immoderate strains of corona virus with which we have had to contend. Grant us breakthroughs in vaccines and theraputics. Graciously hearken to us as healthcare providers and essential workers who call upon Thee that, armed with thy power, we may advance from victory to victory, and crush the oppression and wickedness of our enemies, and establish Thy justice among men and nations. Amen.
i don’t know where they are finding these depressed ninnies- in our neighboorhood, by a lake, everyone is out enjoying themselves, having a good time- recreating- etc- noone’s walking around all mopey acting- depressed about anything- maybe some at the bars are drunk and depressed- but really, life is going along fine- sure it sucks being 1/2 shut down- but folks have been getting their weekly checks, and are getting through it ok- they sure aren’t wanting to throw in the towel- it’s liek one big long extended vacation to them- paid vacation at that—
I suspect a lack of a sense of purpose has to do with a lot of suicide. At least if there is a war going on people feel a sense of purpose. If you lack purpose, it makes your life lack meaning and value.
The victimhood indoctrination was very successful. Our youth seems to be very mentally fragile.
To think they’re allowed to walk around our streets, have kids and vote. It’s no wonder the country is messed up.
Politicians took away their graduations, their social scenes, their sports, their malls, their families, their travel, their jobs, their colleges, everything.
I’ve been concerned all along with what is happening with young boys who, for four long months, have watched their dads cower before a politician in complete acquiesence, hiding behind a face diaper and unable to earn a living because some unelected bureaucrat says they’re not allowed to earn a living. American men have — and continue to provide as an extremely poor example of how to grow into manhood for their sons. Very sad indeed.
