If I hang out with infected people, it’s not the president’s fault. The president is not forcing me. But if I’m a patient in a nursing home and someone orders the nursing home to take in extremely contagious folks to be housed in the same facility, then that someone is responsible.

A virus is not a living organism. It is an inert submicroscopic particle that attaches to cells to do its damage. It is so small compared to bacteria, that you need an electron microscope to see one of the particles.
Unlike a germs or bacteria that are living organisms and much larger in size and can crawl around and infect tissue. You still can't see them with the naked eye but you can under a regular lens microscope.
This is why masks will help stop the spread of germs and bacteria. But they are absolutely useless in stopping virus particles.
