An unofficial Twitter page attributed to a group of anti-capitalist, anti-fascist teens who call themselves the Pacific Northwest Youth Liberation Front said protesters want to establish the Chinook Land Autonomous Territory, or CLAT, in downtown Portland. The Chinook people include several indigenous groups native to the Pacific Northwest.
Portland protesters early Wednesday began to set up tents in the park near the federal courthouse and have barricaded streets to create their own autonomous zone, likened to the since disbanded Capitol Hill Occupied Protest in Seattle.
Demonstrators began erecting tents in downtown Portland’s Lownsdale Square, across the street from the federal Pioneer Courthouse, one of the federal properties Homeland Security sought to protect by bringing federal officers into the city two weeks ago.
They used stolen things to create the walls around their so-called autonomous zone.

Around 1 a.m., demonstrators “in an organized effort” left the barricades and walked to the Central Precinct “in an attempt to disrupt officers as they walked in from the end of their shift,” the police statement said. At that time, officers removed some of the barricades at Southwest 3rd Avenue and Southwest Salmon Street. But demonstrators then began returning to the area and “officers disengaged.”
Things escalated even more last night as rioters threatened to attack a federal officer who lowered his less-lethal weapon and drew a real gun on the mob!

Their leaders would like nothing more than you making martyrs for the Noble Cause. These good folk can’t last two weeks without their Starbucks. Cordon them off and let them experience true autonomy.
One way to defeat them is to lay siege on these areas. Surround and cut off all services. Nothing in nothing out. When they come out arrest and charge with insurrection. Don’t shoot in. Let them stew and starve.

I believe nothing will ensure his reelection but taking action in the “Trump Tradition” just might show these demons that he (Trump) is their worst nightmare. He will win over the voters who are giving lip service about voting for feeble minded Biden. Lots of voters are panty waists right now. I don’t think much of them but I see where they’re coming from. Yep, that’s the ticket! Biden will stop coming out ahead in the polls. Others will follow. It will happen almost immediately. Normal people will vote for Trump because they still believe in right and they are waiting for some glimpse of the bulldog leader they elected in 2016. May God bless the man and preserve Trump for the purpose He intended for him to accomplish.

The Feds should not intervene. Like Seattle before it, Portland isn’t worth shedding American blood. Ensure the interstate is clear; otherwise let that city implode on its own.
At one time this was called juvenile delinquency, vandalism and arson. Mayor 'Red' Ted, head of the municipal police, is blaming this on Trump!
Unfortunately, almost all chiefs of police (unlike sheriffs) - and ALL of them in major cities - aren’t elected, but appointed by mayors, and many of them from other jurisdictions. As an Arizona sheriff once told me, “I’m elected to serve and protect the citizens of this county and I don’t have to follow the orders of any mayor.” He once told Fyfe Symington, the former governor, “I’m elected too, governor!”
He intended to... things were getting close. He wasn’t a ccw. He was a a police officer under imminent attack from a mob. He was legitimately getting ahead of the curve. The crowd is too big to watch them all, he cannot afford to wait to react to one of them producing a gun. They already showed their intent.
Have the “rules” changed?
I honestly don’t know, that’s why I bring this up. The standard boilerplate advice and the rest of it, seems to me, is predicated very much upon a different set of assumptions than we enjoy today.
One notable and glaring example - when the citizenry calls 911, it was a reasonable assumption until recently, that law enforcement e.g. the police would respond. That is not necessarily the case depending on location.
Another complication is the near certainty in similar locations that the victims will be arrested and the perpetrators ignored or tacitly encouraged.
Easy to say when you were safe in bed at 1am and not facing down a communist mob intent on attacking you
Seeing as how so many police officers have been unjustifiably attacked and seriously injured and several have been killed by these lawless criminal actors posing as protesters then yes the officer was more than justified in drawing his service weapon. These thugs have made it plain and clear that their desire to harm and kill police officers everywhere and even innocent white bystanders. Prudent? Wake up people. Time to start letting the hot lead fly where and when appropriate.
I prefer flamethrowers - much more effective at suppression of communist mobs.
Men will not engage under the certainty that the local and state government well send them to prison. The fault is not with the men.

Federal courthouse is federal property, so I wonder if crimes, including intimidation of employees, would be a federal crime.
